These 7 celebrities fight to protect animals, but not human lives

There is nothing wrong with advocating for animal rights. As human beings, it is our job to be stewards of this planet, and that includes protecting its creatures. Protecting the rights of animals is also a popular cause among celebrities, with many in Hollywood using their power and fame to urge for an end to animal cruelty. Yet many of them also are ardent advocates for abortion, which is the intentional killing of defenseless preborn human beings — a contradictory position to be sure.

These celebrities will fight for the lives of animals, while simultaneously fighting for human lives to be killed. Where is the compassion for preborn children, the most vulnerable human beings on the planet? These celebrities’ misguided charity may come from good intentions, but it is a logical fallacy to fight for animals to be saved, while humans are killed — brutally.

Miley Cyrus

Singer Miley Cyrus has been outspoken about the need to protect animals, having received the PETA Best Voice 4 Animals award. She also practiced a fully vegan lifestyle for a long time, and is a big advocate for rescue pets.

Yet Cyrus has also worked with Planned Parenthood on multiple occasions. When one pro-life follower responded to her Instagram post featuring a cake reading “abortion is health care,” Cyrus lashed out in anger.

“So selfish! Killing people is healthcare? Maybe for you females but ripping hands and legs off an unborn baby isn’t really healthcare for a baby. Start being responsible for other people,” the pro-lifer wrote.

Cyrus responded, “don’t bust your nut in our c*** without consent in violent manners and then we can produce life when we f***ing want to.”

Abortion itself is violent:

Ellen DeGeneres

Comedian Ellen DeGeneres is known for her animal advocacy, and has recently expanded her Ellen Fund to help protect endangered species. “I love animals, and I want to protect them, especially when they’re endangered,” she has said in a statement. “We need these incredible creatures and they need our love and compassion to help save them.”

She has also been an outspoken advocate for abortion; in 2019, she tweeted, “I stand with the women in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, Missouri, and everywhere, who have the right to decide what happens to their bodies, as we all do.”

She also wore and promoted a t-shirt that was created by Miley Cyrus and designer Marc Jacobs, of which 100% of the proceeds went towards Planned Parenthood. She was a member of the March for Women’s Lives Celebrity Coalition, which was led and sponsored by groups like Planned Parenthood and the pro-abortion National Organization for Women. She also condemned the reversal of Roe v. Wade last year.

“Throughout history, women haven’t been trusted. Not to vote, or to decide who they marry, and now to make their own decisions about their bodies,” she tweeted. “[W]e will not let this stand, that we will be heard, and we will get the rights we deserve.”

Natalie Portman

Academy Award-winning actress Natalie Portman became the center of feminist outrage when she won her Oscar while visibly pregnant; she said motherhood was her “most important role,” and abortion advocates were furious. Portman is also a vegan and animal rights activist. When asked about her animal rights advocacy, she said (emphasis added), “I’m one of many voices who care deeply about animals. It’s also about people. Because we all want to treat other living beings with the utmost kindness and respect. I hope I can continue to be a voice and help spread the word — and also practice what I preach, to live a life in alignment with my ideals.”

Yet apparently she doesn’t want to treat all living beings with utmost kindness and respect, as she has been a notable abortion activist.

After the reversal of Roe, she wrote on Instagram, “I would never have been able to have the education I had, the career I had, the emotional and spiritual and physical life I’ve enjoyed, or been able to mother the way I do, if it were not for my ability to choose when and how I wanted to have children. Abortion rights allow a person to define the course of their own life, and should not even be under the jurisdiction of the courts. I am devastated. I am disgusted. And I am ready for the fight.” She also said there had been a “war” declared on women.

This is the casualty of a war — but it’s not on women:

Chelsea Handler

Comedian Chelsea Handler was praised by PETA for speaking out against wearing fur, and in favor of adopting animals from rescue organizations. “I got both of my dogs at the pound. Chunk at the L.A. pound and Tammy at the Long Beach pound,” she said, urging others to rescue animals. She concluded, “I love my dog and I will never be able to say how much value dogs bring to your life.”

Yet Handler is a notorious abortion activist. She partnered with Reproductive Freedom for All (previously NARAL) in a failed attempt to keep Justice Brett Kavanaugh from the Supreme Court. “Donald Trump repeatedly promised to only appoint Supreme Court Justices that will overturn Roe v. Wade, criminalize abortion, and punish women. He has found his man in Brett Kavanaugh,” she said. “Let’s be crystal clear: abortion rights, and by proxy, women’s ability to be equal partners in society, is on the line in this fight. Brett Kavanaugh will turn back the clock on decades worth of progress for women.”

She also wrote for Playboy about how she has had two abortions. Far from being “child free,” she is the mother of two dead children.

Pink

Alecia Hart, a singer better known as P!nk, has also been commended by PETA for advocating for animals. She has participated in PETA campaigns, criticized Sea World for keeping “intelligent, sensitive beings in intensive confinement,” and participated in a PETA protest of New York Fashion Week due to its use of fur.

She is also a vocal supporter of abortion. After Roe was overturned last year, she slammed pro-life groups in response.

“Let’s be clear,” she wrote on Twitter. “If you believe the government belongs in a woman’s uterus, a gay persons business or marriage, or that racism is okay – THEN PLEASE IN THE NAME OF YOUR LORD NEVER F***ING LISTEN TO MY MUSIC AGAIN. AND ALSO F*** RIGHT OFF.”

Pink also released a so-called “protest anthem” called “Irrelevant.”

Lizzo

Another singer working with PETA, Lizzo is a vegan animal rights activist who was named one of PETA’s “Beautiful Vegans.” She also gave permission for her song “Good As Hell” to be used in a PETA campaign.

She’s also repeatedly promoted abortion. At the 2022 People’s Choice Awards, she was named the People’s Champion award winner, and took the opportunity to spotlight numerous pro-abortion activists — including Amelia Bonow, the co-founder of “Shout Your Abortion,” who she said “is working to normalize abortion, increase awareness of abortion pills and motivate people to work and support abortion access in their communities.” She also honored Emiliana Guereca, president and founder of the Women’s March Foundation, which has been hostile and unwelcoming toward pro-life women, even telling a pregnant pro-lifer that they would “want to kill myself” if they were her child.

She helped raise money for Planned Parenthood — the nation’s number one killer of preborn human beings — and promoted abortion when she unveiled a new shapewear line.

Billie Eilish

Singer Billie Eilish has been a notable animal rights activist; she would only partner with Oscar de la Renta for the 2021 Met Gala if the designer stopped using fur. She harshly criticized the mink trade, and has spoken out against the meat and dairy industries, including sharing disturbing footage from an Indiana dairy farm.

“if you can watch the videos that I just posted and not give a f*** that its YOU contributing by LITERALLY EATING the creatures that are being fully tortured just for your pleasure. I feel sorry for you,” she wrote on Instagram.

But during numerous concerts, she has also promoted abortion. At a concert in Austin, she slammed the Texas Heartbeat Act. “When they made that s*** a law, I almost didn’t want to do this show, because I wanted to punish this f***ing place for allowing that to happen here,” she said. “But then I remembered that it’s you guys that are the f***ing victims, and you deserve everything in the world.” As she spoke, a large projection appeared behind her which read “Bans Off Our Bodies.”

“We need to tell them to shut the f*** up!” she continued, telling the crowd to raise a middle finger in the air with her. “My body, my f***ing choice!” Eilish has also donated the proceeds from some of her concert appearances to Planned Parenthood.

During a concert in the United Kingdom, Eilish further condemned the fall of Roe. “Today is a really, really dark day for women in the US,” she said. “I’m just going to say that because I can’t bear to think about it any longer.” She further cursed the Supreme Court justices “who try to tell us what to do with our bodies.”

This is the body of a distinct, once-living human being:

Abortion, of course, destroys a body that is not the woman’s. Every society has laws in place that restrict “what we do with our bodies” — even requiring things like seat belts to preserve human life and safety. Killing innocent human beings who exist through no fault or choice of their own is unequivocally wrong, and those who fight for the rights of innocent animals would do well to be equally concerned with the slaughter of more than 2,500 defenseless preborn children in America alone every single day.
