UK reality star grieves death of twins born just under 24 weeks
Holly Ditchfield, a star on “Married at First Sight UK," has announced the passing of her twin boys, Georgie and Marley, who lived just nine days after their premature birth at 23 weeks.
Married at First Sight UK star Holly Ditchfield and her fiancé, Aaron Summers, announced the deaths of their premature twins last week.
The boys, Georgie and Marley, were born at 23 weeks 5 days. They lived just nine days after birth.
Ditchfield and Summers both expressed the impact their boys had on them, despite their short time on earth.
Holly Ditchfield, who welcomed Georgie and Marley with fiancé Aaron Summers, took to Instagram on September 5 to share the heartbreaking news.
At 1pm on 03/09/2026, our darling Georgie peacefully passed away. Then, at 5am on 04/09/2026, his beautiful brother Marley followed him.
My boys both took their final breaths in the arms of me and their daddy. There is no greater privilege, and no greater pain, than holding your children as they leave this world.
They gave us the most precious week of our lives. A week I would live over and over again, just to have those moments with them. To hold them. To look at them. To love them. To be their mummy and daddy.
In previous posts, the couple explained that the boys were born at 23 weeks 5 days, weighing just 1.1 and 1.2 pounds, respectively.
"Our tiny boys may be incredibly small, but they have already shown us just how incredibly strong they are," Ditchfield wrote in a post.
“We never thought we was going to be premature baby parents,” she said in a separate video. “As someone who’s had full-term pregnancies before, you don’t prepare yourself for ... how small your babies are going to be and how fragile they are.”
She also expressed a deep sense of loss.
“My body feels different. It feels like a part of me is no longer here, because a part of me truly isn’t ... I would have given absolutely everything to have watched Georgie and Marley grow, to hear their voices, watch them take their first steps, and see the beautiful lives they deserved to have," she wrote.
The heartbreaking loss of the twins is a reminder that all children, no matter their age or size, are precious individuals to be loved and cherished.
"Thank you for giving us the most precious 9 days of our lives," the couple wrote in memory of their sons. "You will forever be our sons, our babies, and the biggest part of our hearts."
