Polls show young adults are increasingly adopting pro-life views

New polling shows that the percentage of young adults with pro-life views in the United States is growing, despite the abortion industry’s efforts to indoctrinate youth with pro-abortion ideology.

Key Takeaways:

  • Several polls and surveys have shown an increasing trend among young adults toward the pro-life position.
  • Significant gains have been made, especially among young men.
  • Despite these gains, the abortion industry continues in its attempts to reach youth with its ideology in sex education materials.

The Details:

Recently at National Review, Dr. Michael New highlighted multiple new polls showing pro-life views increasing among youth.

Gallup’s most recent poll on abortion showed increases in overall pro-life views — but most notably, the number of young adults who agreed that “abortion should be legal in all circumstances” fell by 10 percentage points. The number of pro-life youth also grew from 2023 to 2025, with an overall 14% drop since 2023 among those who believe “abortion should be legal in all circumstances.”

New also pointed out that the General Social Survey of the National Opinion Research Center (GSS) found similar results, with support for legal abortion among young adults dropping by over seven percentage points between 2022 and 2024.

Young men, in particular, are trending toward pro-life sentiment; even in the United Kingdom, as shown by a recent Ipsos poll, young men were more likely to be pro-life than other demographic groups, including older men. The Independent reported, “Just 46 per cent of 16- to 34-year-old males believe abortion should be legal in all or most cases, compared with 71 per cent among the general population.”

This trend is occurring as polling reveals men of all ages are much less approving of abortion than women — double digits less.

The Big Picture:

Though this trend is hopeful, the abortion industry continues to find ways to indoctrinate children and teenagers with pro-abortion ideology.

A recent youth leadership symposium held in Massachusetts was hijacked by Planned Parenthood, with the abortion giant giving a presentation urging the youth leaders to campaign for more extensive sex education — provided by Planned Parenthood — in Worcester schools. Committee members were furious; some felt it was inappropriate, while others pointed out that the event was about preparing children to become future leaders and be better equipped to enter the workforce. Yet Planned Parenthood exploited the opportunity to promote its own agenda.

Planned Parenthood-backed sex education group Advocates for Youth likewise revamped its youth “club,” which is paid for with taxpayer dollars, to encourage young adults to see “pro-life” activists as “red flags” who hold unscientific views. The group has previously attacked PRCs, claiming they harm young people.

Planned Parenthood promotes its sex ed programs for a reason — to indoctrinate youth and create future customers through the sexualization of children.

Former Planned Parenthood manager Ramona Treviño explained that in the corporation’s particular scope of sex education, contraception and abortion are two sides of the same coin.

“Contraception creates a market for abortion by promoting promiscuity and providing men and women a false sense of security against an unintended pregnancy. The more promiscuous people are (especially young people), the more likely they’ll become pregnant,” she said. “The more people use birth control and adopt a contraceptive mentality, the higher the odds that they’ll seek an abortion. Because, let’s face it, if they’re using birth control, a child is not part of the ‘plan.’ Abortion is the backup, so to speak, for contraceptive failure, misuse, or lack of self-control.”

Treviño added, “Planned Parenthood is not in the business of prevention. Preventing unplanned pregnancy doesn’t generate a profit. Promoting abstinence, self-control, or monogamous marriage does not keep the blood money flowing in. SEX. Sex is how Planned Parenthood meets its abortion quotas.”

The Bottom Line:

It is a huge win for the pro-life movement to see that young adults are starting to trend toward rejecting pro-abortion indoctrination.
