New Mexico abortion business willing to help man get abortion for minor

An undercover video from a New Mexico abortion facility showed staff agreeing to commit an abortion on a 14-year-old girl without her parents' knowledge or consent.

Key Takeaways:

  • The New Mexico Sentinel released video filmed inside the Valley Abortion Group (VAG), which commits abortions through 34 weeks of pregnancy.

  • In the video, an adult man told a staffer that his 14-year-old "niece" lived in Texas and needed to cross state lines into New Mexico for an abortion.

  • The staffer said the girl could get an abortion without her parents knowing, and that it could even potentially be free.

The Details:

The New Mexico Sentinel reported on the video, in which a man posed as a someone looking to travel to New Mexico from Texas for an abortion. The person needing the abortion was his 14-year-old "niece," and the staffer assured him that the girl's parents would not need to know.

“My niece — she’s in Texas. She’s going through a really hard time right now,” the man said. “She’s pregnant; she doesn’t, she doesn’t feel comfortable with it. She wants to terminate. She can’t do it in Texas. And so how does it work? Can she come here?”

The staffer replied, "Yes, she can come here in New Mexico. There's no parental controls, so she could come here, get the treatment here. She would come in."

While it's not said how far along the girl was, the staffer described what sounded like a dilation and curettage (D&C) abortion procedure.

"So it's kind of like a pap smear," she said. "They place the speculum on the cervix, dilate, and then remove the pregnancy, and then she also gets medicine in her cheek and gums that preps her cervix, and then the procedure, and then we remove the pregnancy with some gentle suction and instruments."

In reality, the suction machine is approximately 10 to 20 times the force of a household vacuum cleaner, and is finished after the abortionist uses a sharp metal device — the curette — to remove any parts of the preborn baby's body from the woman's uterus. Potential risks include injury to the cervix, uterus, intestines, bladder, and nearby blood vessels, as well as hemorrhage, infection, and even potentially death. An incomplete abortion can also occur, which can further increase risk of infection and death.

Later, the man reiterated that he wanted to ensure the girl's "medical privacy" would be respected, and the staffer assured him that the girl's parents would not find out. The staffer even said they had resources to make sure the abortion would be fully paid for.

Disturbingly, the staffer seemed to have no concern at all about the potential issue of an adult, non-parental male trying to get an abortion for an underage girl without her parents' knowledge.

Why It Matters:

Abortion facilities are known to look the other way when victims of abuse, rape, and trafficking are brought in to undergo abortions.

Live Action’s Aiding Abusers investigation found a systemic, decades-long cover-up of child sexual abuse, with the multi-part video series covering sex trafficking, recorded cases, interviews with former workers, and more. In another investigation, Planned Parenthood advised actors posing as traffickers to pose as the guardians of minors and lie about the ages of their child victims.

However, this isn't just an issue of undercover videos; numerous real-life predators have also been aided by the abortion industry.

According to a report published by the Annals of Health Law in 2014, Planned Parenthood is well known to trafficking victims. Trafficked women were said to have “significant contact with clinical treatment facilities, most commonly Planned Parenthood.” Survivors have testified to having multiple abortions, often at the demand of their pimps, with one specifically saying Planned Parenthood was chosen because “[they] didn’t ask any questions.”...

"I got pregnant six times and had six abortions during this time. Several of them were from a doctor who was a client — he did them back door — I came in the back door after hours and paid them off the books. This kept my name off any records… At least one of my abortions was from Planned Parenthood because they didn’t ask any questions."

Additionally, numerous studies have shown that traffickers use abortion to subjugate their victims and keep them working.

The Bottom Line:

While in this case the person seeking an abortion for an underage female was simply an actor, there are countless other abused children taken to abortion facilities with no questions asked, allowing the abuse to continue.
