Beyond Abortion: Planned Parenthood’s efforts to 'socially transition' kids
In part one of this four-part "Beyond Abortion" series, Live Action News discussed Planned Parenthood's methods of encouraging children and society to reject self-evident biological realities using predatory grooming tactics that have led to an explosive rise in ‘trans’ and ‘non-binary’ self-identification.
The abortion and "transgender" ideologies and industries — which Planned Parenthood asserts go hand-in-hand — have historically been intertwined. Planned Parenthood sexualizes and indoctrinates minors as a precursor to ‘transition.' It then acts to aid minors and young adults in 'transitioning' through the administration of puberty blockers and hormones and by referring them for life-altering surgeries.
Part of 'socially transitioning' is the acceptance of incorrect pronouns, a different name, and outward appearances contrary to one's biological sex.
Planned Parenthood seeks to indoctrinate children by gaining trusted access to them at schools and libraries and its own grooming centers.
Social transitioning is not easy to reverse and can push minors toward chemical and surgical interventions; these youth suffer from increased anxiety and diminished self-worth.
Common 'social transition' interventions mistakenly viewed as harmless include tucking and chest binding.
Queer Theory underpins Planned Parenthood's educational resources and messaging, separating personal essence from reality. Planned Parenthood and allied groups like the Future of Sex Education (FoSE) coalition promote Queer Theory ideologies as evidence in their teachings of gender "fluidity" and "bodily autonomy," which portray objective biological reality as an oppressive external imposition.
In this way, Queer Theory and its propagandists like Planned Parenthood help to push a political ideology. It is also evident in its sex ed curricula like Planned Parenthood’s Sex Ed To-Go, which distorts and conflates gender (a construct conflated with stereotypes) and sex (male/female, inherently determined and fixed in accordance with reality). It tells children that sex is "assigned at birth," yet science confirms that biological sex is unchangeable and encoded in human DNA at fertilization.
Live Action News previously explained that the term ‘gender affirming care’ (GAC) “is used as a euphemism often covering a broad range of possible implications.”
As explained in part one, Planned Parenthood provides so-called "gender affirming care" (GAC) through three types of interventions: social, medical, and legal.
Part of ‘social transition’ is the acceptance of pronouns, a different name, and outward appearances contrary to one's biological sex. Since this is easily identified as contrary to reality, ‘gender affirming sex ed’ or indoctrination is necessary to convince children to accept affirmations contradicting what is real. Planned Parenthood and its allies in the Future of Sex Education (FoSE) coalition use propaganda to prop up this agenda.
Planned Parenthood uses several access points to meet children and bring them into the world of transition, including grooming centers, schools, and libraries.
Planned Parenthood uses clubs and groups as a method of reaching children. Live Action News has previously reported on Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM) and its efforts to blur the boundary between its teen and adult LGBTQ+ groups: TeenMP (teen’mpower) and MPower.
According to its website, TeenMP is intentionally structured to target children as young as 13. By marketing itself as a hospitable and secure environment for LGBTQ+ youth and their allies, the group uses lures such as "super comfy" couches, complimentary meals, and various social gatherings — including prom, movie nights, and dance parties — to attract young teenagers. TeenMP functions as an initiative specifically designed to draw in young teens, while often commingling activities with the adult MPower group, such as “all ages” drag events advertised as free for minors, and holiday ‘gift giving,’ during which adults purchase requested gifts for teens.
Planned Parenthood "services" are sometimes accessible to minors without youth ever having to step foot in a facility. By establishing itself on school properties, it gains easy and trusted access to minors. In various states, school-based health centers (SBHCs) — many of which have historical and current ties to Planned Parenthood— have reportedly played a direct role in the medical and social "transitioning" of students. While SBHCs in more conservative-leaning states are suspected of facilitating a "school to clinic" pipeline, Planned Parenthood consistently acts as a passionate advocate for SBHCs.
Historically and currently aligned with groups like the American Library Association (ALA) and PEN America, Planned Parenthood and other FoSE members promote and provide sexually explicit content and books that push Queer Theory-aligned ideologies and concepts.
The process of ‘social transition’ encompasses the non-clinical actions a person takes to adopt a presentation at odds with his or her biological sex, including the adoption of different pronouns, attire, and hair styling, as well as the often physically harmful practices of breast (chest) binding or genital “tucking” – things Planned Parenthood teaches to minors.
The American Psychiatric Association (APA, 2014) warned that this social maneuver risks ignoring a child’s underlying personal struggles and involves a premature role change that is difficult to undo if their confusion does not continue. The Cass Review (2022) determined that socially transitioning is "not a neutral act," but rather, "an active intervention" capable of producing "significant effects on the child or young person in terms of their psychological functioning." Cass (2024) added that such steps often shift a child’s path toward permanent medicalization, noting that many children now arrive at clinics having already undergone partial or full social changes.
The group Genspect, which advocates for “a non-medicalised approach to gender distress,” raises cautions that once a minor has “transitioned” publicly, the "substantial" stress and potential embarrassment of reverting back to their biological sex makes them more vulnerable to continuing to transition, pushing them toward chemical and surgical interventions.1 This is reinforced by the APA (2014), which observed that these youth suffer from increased anxiety and diminished self-worth while rapidly advancing toward puberty blockers and hormones as young as age eight. The APA (2014) further cautioned against these steps, noting they may "foreclose" on natural development and that the psychological cost of trying to reverse a social transition is "substantial."
Essentially, children who undergo ‘social transition’ before any clinical visits are increasingly likely to be funneled into a lifelong medical pathway while facing severe psychological distress if they attempt to return to reality.
Breast Binding (or chest binding)
As previously stated, breast binding is the medically unnecessary compression of breast tissue for the purpose of appearing more masculine.
The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) classifies breast binders as therapeutic Class I medical devices under 21 C.F.R. § 880.5160. These implements consist of cloth materials designed to support the body or secure medical dressings, encompassing abdominal, perineal, and breast variants. In late 2025, the FDA issued several warning letters to retailers regarding the misleading marketing of these wraps as “gender affirming care.” The FDA noted that such products are intended for diagnosing, curing, or preventing medical conditions, or otherwise altering the body's structure and function.
Planned Parenthood presents chest binding as a common practice used to align one's appearance with one's subjective identity, conveniently leaving out the potential for long-term physiological damage. While Planned Parenthood’s internal documentation labels the practice as “generally safe,” it merely suggests that users proceed with caution. Furthermore, Planned Parenthood’s social media platforms disseminate detailed tutorials without consideration for the age or developmental vulnerability of its audience.

Tucking
Genspect defines tucking as “the practice of males compressing their genitalia into the groin or up between the legs to produce a “feminine” appearing crotch.”1
Genspect further characterizes the practice as “another do-it-yourself intervention that causes harm” and explicitly states it “is not recommended.”
Much like breast binding, comprehensive data regarding the long-term physiological consequences of tucking remains notably limited.

Drawing from available studies, Genspect noted several adverse side effects associated with it, including:
Persistent itching;
Localized rashes;
Testicular and penile pain;
Severe reproductive complications, such as cryptozoospermia or testicular torsion, which pose significant risks to future fertility.
Despite this readily available information, Planned Parenthood continues to grow and double down on its reported GAC services. This is also why the ‘precursor’ to ‘transition’ spewed by Planned Parenthood’s sex ed programs and other propaganda-fueled content leads to further potential life-altering harm.
