Planned Parenthood affiliate adds new gender and abortion business next to teen center
Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM) has opened an abortion/'gender-affirming care' facility — located next to its recently relocated meeting spot for youth as young as 13 — in New Mexico’s most populated metroplex.
Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains now has an abortion/'gender-affirming care' business next to its recently relocated teen/young adult center (which caters to the LGBTQ+ community) in Albuquerque.
The teen/young adult center, known as "The Space," encourages interaction between minors as young as 13 and adults through PPRM's Teen M’Power and M’Power groups.
In the past, the teen and adult commingling events have included the “Lavender Prom” that offered attendees ‘free rapid HIV testing,' several “all ages” drag events, and a holiday ‘gift giving’ program where MPower adults are encouraged to purchase requested gifts for teens.
PPRM announced the opening of its second abortion/‘gender affirming’ facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico, right next door to its newly relocated meeting spot called “The Space,” intended for adults and teens aged 13-29.
“The Space” is PPRM's latest location for its Teen M’Power and M’Power groups, where both minors and adults can get tested for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, but also for those who “... might be questioning or curious about their own sexuality,” according to local news outlet, KRQU.

President and CEO of PPRM, Adrienne Mansanares, boasted of its expanding ability to end the lives of countless in the womb and selling its medicalized gender ideology, telling the Santa Fe New Mexican, “Being here in New Mexico is such an honor and a privilege because we have so many protections.”
To be clear, Mansanares is referring to protections for abortionists, as well as the abortion and gender ideology industries, which profiting from the killing of preborn children and the body-harming practices of ‘gender affirming care.’
PPRM already has its Eubanks location on the northeast side of the city that conducts chemical and surgical abortions. This newest location on the southeast side is “... among Albuquerque’s most densely populated areas,” Mansanares told the Santa Fe New Mexican.
There are no limits on abortion in the state, and the legislature continues to establish New Mexico as one of the most anti-life states in the Union, as a destination ready and willing to end the lives of the preborn and those seeking assisted suicide, as well as providing sex-rejecting services to individuals from surrounding states. Live Action News recently reported on the additional abortion businesses planned with the use of state tax dollars.
New Mexico state officials continue to expand and fund the opening of abortion facilities — luring women from other states to end the lives of their preborn children — and PPRM has seen nearly 10,000 women from out of state since the passage of the Texas Heartbeat Act in 2021.
Last month, in an interview with KRQE, Planned Parenthood’s New Mexico HIV Program Manager, Tommy Sloan, announced the affiliate's new location for “The Space.” The facility for its LGBTQ+ groups, TeenMPower and MPower Albuquerque, is a “community drop-in center offering free rapid HIV testing, safer sex kits, PrEP and PEP navigation, and community support… designed for LGBTQ2S+ teens and adults,” according to the PPRM website.
Teen MPower is one of many Planned Parenthood-affiliated groups that specifically targets teens ages 13-18. MPower Albuquerque is “for gay, bisexual, queer, and questioning men and trans individuals ages 18-29.”
“By having this space here, it forces everyone [adults and vulnerable teens] to actually come together and actually interact with each other… " Sloan told KRQE. "We could be talking about their sexual health, their own identities, and we create a space here where they can come talk about that without feeling any pressure to live up to whatever it is they’re feeling.”
The signage inside The Space (as shown on the facility's website) bears neon lights in the shapes of frequently sexualized 'fruit emoji' symbols.

Live Action News also reported concerns voiced by one local pro-life group, New Mexico Alliance for Life, that shared concerns of PPRM groups' predatory tactics targeting vulnerable minors struggling with their identities.
In the past, the teen and adult collaborating events have included the “Lavender Prom” that offered attendees ‘free rapid HIV testing’ during the event, several “all ages” drag events, and a holiday ‘gift giving’ program where MPower adults are encouraged to purchase requested gifts for teens.
Teen M’Power has also hosted movie watching events with movies like “Three Months,” which Live Action News reported having “sexually explicit scenes including mutual masturbation, drug and alcohol use, and attempts to normalize sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea and HIV.”
Placing a new facility for "gender-affirming" care and abortion next to a center frequented by teens drives home the point pro-lifers have been making for years: Planned Parenthood grooms teens for early sexual activity, then directs those teens toward its sex-related "services."
Planned Parenthood has been known for aiding abusers by covering up and failing to report sexual abuse of children and instead offering birth control and abortions that only furthered the abuse. And now PPRM thinks it is appropriate to create a ‘space’ where strangers ranging from minors as young as 13 to adult males discuss sexual topics, view sexualized content, obtain sex kits, and have access to abortions and birth control right next door.
