Planned Parenthood, part of the radical Future of Sex Education (FoSE) coalition and one of the nation’s leading sex “mis-educators,” has an online Sex Ed To-Go program to instruct teachers on how to become sex educators — and it’s no less explicit than its other materials. The program promotes perverse ideas about children being “sexual from birth.”
Planned Parenthood boasts of being the “single largest provider of sex education,” claiming to reach 1.2 million in the U.S.
The Background:
Sex Ed To-Go, created by Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest, is marketed as a free online program for nationwide use and includes free lessons for both teachers and students. According to Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT), an online resource where teachers share free or low-cost curriculum, Sex Ed To-Go:
- Has over 20,000 users with over 50,000 course enrollments.
- Is promoted for use by 3rd-12th graders.
- Claims to stress the importance of teaching students “medically accurate, biased-free education.”
However, this curriculum has scientifically questionable lessons rife with pro-abortion and eugenics-based ideology.
The teachers’ lessons include training modules which promote the idea that children are sexual from birth and attempt to convince educators that children should be taught sex education as early as Kindergarten.
Like so many other Planned Parenthood-drafted sex education curricula utilized in U.S. schools, the curriculum incorporates Advocates For Youth and AMAZE videos, along with other sexually explicit websites.
Teachers’ training modules repeatedly emphasize the importance of using “inclusive” and “non-gendered” language with students, while downplaying sexually transmitted infections and diseases. Educators are advised to use phrases like “person with a vulva or a person with a penis” instead of “boy” or “girl.”
But it gets worse.
The Details:
Sexualizing the mother-infant bond
The “Introduction to Effective Sex Education” module begins with a video excerpt from “It was Dusk” (Yates, A., 1978), which offensively sexualizes mother-infant breastfeeding in a way that reads like a bedroom scene between two lovers — only to later reveal to the reader that it is actually a scene between a nursing mother and her four-month-old baby. The end of the excerpt finally sums up, “Having completed a six o’clock feeding, this four-month-old had also experienced one more minute contribution to his further sexual development.”
The entire narrative is meant to convince the reader that a child is “sexual” from birth, merely because he or she derives nourishment from his or her mother’s breasts (which apparently are meant only to be viewed as sexual objects?) in the first stages of life outside the womb. It’s odd, to say the least, since one doesn’t usually see this behavior portrayed as such when exhibited by any other mammalian mother feeding her offspring.
Anyone who is actually educated about breastfeeding knows the incredible role that it plays in the bonding of mother and child (incredibly important for emotional and cognitive development) and in the health of mother and child. And of course, what the child is gaining is far more important than “sexual development” — he or she gains sustenance to maintains life and provide individualized nutrition as he or she grows. It’s incredible — and it’s not even fully understood by science.
Only the perverse mind would choose to reduce such a biological marvel to something “sexual.”
Promoting pro-abortion propaganda by omitting the preborn child
The Sex Ed To-Go lesson for teachers, “Teaching Pregnancy, Childbirth, Adoption & Abortion,” utilizes a PowerPoint presentation which uses deliberately deceptive photos from the MYA Network. As Live Action News reported in 2022, these photos show only fragments of the empty gestational sac at various points of development, yet falsely portray the photos as accurate representations of six- and nine-week pregnancies.
The Sex Ed To-Go module is even worse; the Planned Parenthood presenter flat-out lies to students and teachers using the MYA photos to claim, “At six weeks, an embryo looks like the first image: like a small tuft of cotton or a piece of a dandelion.” This is quickly followed by the claim, “About 36% — just over one third — of abortions happen between 7 and 9 weeks of gestational age. You can see a fetus at that stage in the second image.” Students and teachers literally cannot see the pre-born baby in the photo in the false and medically inaccurate lesson plan.

Sex-Ed to Go screenshot uses debunked MYA images of gestational sacs without embryos.
Both lessons for teachers and students regarding abortions claim that abortion is “safe,” never mentioning that abortion results in the death of a preborn human being, nor do the lessons include any of the potential risks associated with abortions at any stage in pregnancy.
When describing vacuum aspiration and D&E abortions, the Planned Parenthood presenter fails to describe what is actually occurring inside the mother’s womb during life-ending abortions, referring to the preborn human child simply as ‘pregnancy tissue’ being emptied from the woman’s uterus. Normalizing Pornography Consumption by Children
The American College of Pediatricians states that “Sexual predators have purposefully exposed young children to pornography for the purpose of grooming the children for sexual exploitation.” Since Planned Parenthood and its affiliates promote pornography to educators and students alike through its Sex Ed To-Go program, this seems quite similar to grooming children.
Following the FoSE tradition of promoting pornography to children, the Sex Ed To-Go module for teachers, “Teaching Online Safety and Porn/Media Literacy,” recommends the website, “The Porn Conversation” as a resource, stating its “free and easily accessible tools for young people about sex — beginning with the topic of porn.” It highlights a “Porn Literacy” video as a “great resource for tweens and teens” and refers to pornography as “entertainment,” stating, “The main purpose of porn is to entertain, not educate.”
The Sex Ed To-Go student lesson, “Sex in the Media: What You Need to Know,” aims to normalize and encourage the consumption of pornography by children, framing it as “entertainment” and pleasurable so long as the student is informed on “porn literacy.” The lesson states (emphasis added):
Porn shows lots of penises, vulvas, and orgasms. But it doesn’t always show the things about sex that most people may value, like communication, foreplay, laughing, consent, sexual protection, cuddling or sex that doesn’t end in orgasm. So keep that in mind while you’re watching.
Those who use the Sex Ed To-Go modules to visit the “Porn Conversation” will see blog posts such as ‘To Play or Not to Play: Is Stigma Holding You Back from Using Sex Toys as a Penis Owner?’; ‘What is Ethical Porn? And Where Can I Find It?’; and ‘A Sex Therapist’s Tips to Watching Porn as a Couple.’
‘Penis owner‘??
Neither the student nor teacher modules mention known harmful effects of pornography on children and teens, which according to the American College of Pediatricians include:
- Feelings of “disgust, shock, embarrassment, anger, fear, and sadness”
- Increased anxiety and depression
- Anti-social behaviors, and a greater risk of “a broad range of maladaptive behaviors and psychopathology”
The American College of Pediatricians also reports, “Children under twelve years old who have viewed pornography are statistically more likely to sexually assault their peers.”
The Bottom Line:
Taxpayer funds should not be given to any organization which promotes the detrimental exposure of children to pornography or which promote the violent death of preborn children in the womb through propaganda.
Sex Ed To-Go is yet another disturbing tool Planned Parenthood uses to sexualize infants and children while indoctrinating educators and children. The promotion of Planned Parenthood’s agenda must come to an end.
