Catholic Charities in New Mexico promotes Planned Parenthood events
A pro-life group is calling for accountability after a local Catholic organization allegedly took to social media to promote Planned Parenthood and "transgender" events aimed at teens.
New Mexico Alliance for Life is calling for accountability after Catholic Charities of New Mexico promoted Planned Parenthood and transgender events aimed at teens. The group stated, “[t]here is no excuse for this blatant, reckless promotion of evil…”
“Lavender Prom” by TeenMP (teen ‘mpower) is an event that“encourages participation across a broad age range of young teens with adults offering ‘free rapid HIV testing’ during the event.”
The event includes games like sex-ed “Super Smash Bros."
TeenMP hosts movie watching events for teens and allegedly showed “Three Months” which has sexually explicit scenes including mutual masturbation, drug and alcohol use, and attempts to normalize sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea and HIV.
Using the sexual attitude reassessment technique, Planned Parenthood aims to break down the teens' the inherent protective barriers by exposing them to sexually explicit content and materials.
Sharing alleged photos of the social media accounts for the local Catholic Charities of New Mexico (CCCNM), the New Mexico Alliance for Life (NMA4L) stated in a press release on Thursday, “The contrast is troubling: a well-funded arm of the Archdiocese devotes energy during Holy Week to promoting Planned Parenthood-linked events with clear risks to minors and taxpayer-backed sexual components, while offering minimal commitment to building a culture of life in a state experiencing explosive abortion growth.”
Referring to CCCNM as the “social justice arm of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe,” NMA4L stated the now-deleted post promoting a Planned Parenthood “prom” for teens and celebrating “Trans Day of Visibility” was “not only [an] attack [on] Catholic teaching but worse, put children in potentially predatory sexual situations.”

In a newsletter sent to supporters, Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM) reported ending the lives of 14,374 preborn children by abortion and boasted of expanding its access to “gender affirming care” across all locations in fiscal year 2025.
Live Action News has reported on the historic links between the abortion and sex-rejecting “transgender” movements, which are taught by Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer funded “sex ed” programs. Both movements continue to be fueled by the ideology of sexologist Alfred Kinsey, which was based on so-called "research" obtained from child sex abuse, a rejection of the reality of the humanity of the preborn, and a rejection of the fact that biological sex is unchangeable.
Planned Parenthood continues be the nation's leader in providing abortions and a top provider of “gender affirming care,” claiming the issues go “hand-in-hand.” Yet, Planned Parenthood continues to receive ample taxpayer funding.
One of the posts CCCNM account allegedly shared promoted the “Trans Day of Visibility" on March 31, and used it to “celebrate the transgender and nonbinary community.”
A report by NPR claims the “Visibility Day” was first celebrated in Michigan by psychotherapist (and biological male identifying as female) Rachel Crandall-Crocker, who started the advocacy group “Transgender Michigan.”
The organization came under scrutiny in 2024, when journalist Andy Ngo reported that Transgender Michigan’s board member, Vincent Prygoski, who served alongside Crandall-Crocker to promote the “Trans Day of Visibility,” was allegedly found in possession of extensive collections of pornography — including “... graphic images sexualizing young girls” and teenagers.

NMA4L noted the promotion of Planned Parenthood’s upcoming sponsored event, “Lavender Prom” by TeenMP (teen ‘mpower), noting that the event “encourages participation across a broad age range of young teens with adults offering ‘free rapid HIV testing’ during the event.”
“In fact, the 2024 Lavender Prom featured 4-5 grown adult males and drag performers attending,” NMA4L stated.
TeenMP is a PPRM group, specifically targeting youth as young as 13. PPRM’s TeenMP markets itself as a “group of LGBTQ+ youth and allies who come together and make memories,” providing free food along with activities like “dance parties” and games like sex-ed “Super Smash Bros,” with promises of “super comfy” couches.
The taxpayer-funded TeenMP hosts movie watching events for teens. In March, the group reported watching “Three Months” which has sexually explicit scenes including mutual masturbation, drug and alcohol use, and attempts to normalize sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea and HIV.
Exposing youth to sexually explicit/pornographic content and materials follows comprehensive sex ed's sexual attitude reassessment technique. It is extremely similar to the way sexual predators groom their young victims for sexual activity.
PPRM’s TeenMP also promotes its Discord chat. The Discord app has been named in several lawsuits for its alleged failures to protect children from sexual predators.
The program incentivizes becoming “Core Group” members, offering teens “free shirts and swag, gas cards or gift cards"… and free admission to outings like laser tag. “Core Group” members “must come to at least half of the events in a month, and stay past 5 p.m. for half of those.”
Notably, the TeenMP’s social media pages promote PPRM’s adult version of the program, named MPower Albuquerque (for ages 18-29, named as a CDC-listed provider), which claims to be a “non-traditional HIV prevention and education” program. In March, TeenMP’s accounts shared PPRM’s MPower adult group’s “Drag Out HIV Ambassadors” event, featuring displayed photos of men wearing heavy makeup and sexualized clothing (drag).
This isn’t the only Planned Parenthood grooming center for minors.
In August 2023, Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio (PPGOH) announced the opening of its ‘Queer in Canton’ center, claiming to be “Stark County’s First LGBTQ+ Resource Center.” The center includes ‘The Mayne Room,’ geared for youth ages 12-17, and claims to offer services to youth and adults including “monthly peer support groups and social gathering; safer injection kits for people going through hormone replacement therapy (HRT),... community closets for people who are transitioning and others to get free affirming clothes; and youth programming.”
NMA4L Executive Director Elisa Martinez maintained that the social promotion, seemingly removed by CCCNM, was a “cause for grave concern,” calling it “shocking and sacrilegious behavior” and an “attack… on Catholic teaching.”
Martinez called for “decisive action” and a change in Catholic Charities NM leadership, further stating, “There is no excuse for this blatant, reckless promotion of evil, especially among children…. There must be accountability from the top down.”
