California Planned Parenthood still withholding vital information from 911 dispatchers

Planned Parenthood

A California Planned Parenthood facility has a reputation for refusing to give 911 dispatchers vital information after patients are injured — and one of its latest emergencies was no different.

Key Takeaways:

  • The Planned Parenthood facility in Orange, California, has a history of botched abortions and injured women.
  • It was also investigated by the Department of Justice (DOJ) for trafficking the body parts of aborted babies.
  • When patients are injured, the facility often withholds relevant information from 911 dispatchers.
  • The most recent reported emergency took place in July, with dispatchers noting that the staffer was being “evasive.”

The Details:

Operation Rescue reported that a woman had to be transported by ambulance to the emergency room on July 11, seemingly after having a 22-week abortion procedure.

The most common abortion procedure committed during this stage of pregnancy is a D&E, or dilation and evacuation, abortion. Usually, this is a multi-day procedure, but some abortionists attempt to complete it in one day, even though it is more risky for women.

In this procedure, the abortionist first inserts laminaria, or seaweed sticks, into the woman’s cervix to force dilation to begin. Then, ideally after one to two days, the woman returns to the abortion facility, where the abortionist will forcibly dilate her cervix even further and use a sopher clamp to dismember the preborn baby, limb from torso.

Risks of this procedure include perforation or laceration of the uterus, cervix, bowel, bladder, rectum and other maternal organs, as well as hemorrhage and infection.

It’s not known what complication this patient experienced, because the Planned Parenthood staffer refused to give the dispatcher any information. While the audio was not made available, Operation Rescue included a transcript of the 911 call (emphasis added):

911: How far along is she, do you know?

PP: (Pause) Um, the doctor will be able to give details when the paramedics arrive.

911: I understand, but so I know how to categorize and send the right, appropriate units, do you know how many months or weeks pregnant she is?

PP: (Longer Pause) Uh, around 22.

911: Okay, that will help me so I appreciate you answering for me. And, um, is… Is she bleeding at all?

PP: (Hesitating) Um…

At this point, someone in the background can be heard coaching her to repeat “We’ll give a report when the paramedics…”

PP: (Parroting) We’ll give a report when the paramedics arrive. It’s a pregnancy-related complication.

911: I understand, but in order for me to send the appropriate units and the right equipment I do need to ask my questions so I can send the right equipment for you. Is she bleeding?

A screenshot of the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) report was also included, in which it specifically mentions, “CP very evasive on providing any information or answering questions.

Not only that, but as seen in the transcript, this abortion staffer claimed the abortion complication was a “pregnancy-related complication,” not an “abortion complication” or “pregnancy termination complication.”

This is entirely misleading and dishonest. The complication was not the result of the woman’s pregnancy but a result of the 22-week abortion.

The Backstory:

This particular Planned Parenthood has a controversial background, with a history of multiple botched abortions, and of refusing to give dispatchers medically necessary information. As Live Action News reported in one previous instance, the Planned Parenthood staffer actually argued with the dispatcher, becoming angry that she was being questioned:

“You just need to send the paramedics!” she snapped. “They’ve come here many times before. I just need the paramedics.” The manager eventually admitted it was a first trimester abortion. “This is not typical for you guys to ask so many questions. That’s why we’re kind of concerned,” the manager added.

But the dispatcher refused to be dissuaded. “It is, it’s absolutely typical,” she said.

The manager continued to argue, saying, “No it’s not, I’ve had – I’ve done this before.”

Additionally, this facility was part of a DOJ investigation into the trafficking of body parts by Planned Parenthood. One notorious video featured Jennefer Russo — the medical director for Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties — acknowledging she would illegally alter abortion procedures to get better “specimens” (the bodies of preborn children) to sell.

This affiliate also wrongly received COVID-19 funding from the federal Paycheck Protection Program, despite being ineligible.

The Bottom Line:

Planned Parenthood is an organization that cannot be trusted — not with the lives of women, of preborn children, or even to simply follow the law. And it is doing its best to hide abortion injuries from the public.
