Pregnant woman killed in gang shooting. Men charged in baby's death
Two men in Spain have been arrested and charged with four counts of murder after a horrific triple murder that left a pregnant woman dead.
A pregnant woman, her mother, and a teenage bystander were killed in what authorities said was an act of gang violence in Spain this summer.
Several people have been arrested, with two specifically being accused of carrying out the brutal murder.
The two men have been charged with four counts of murder, including that of the preborn child.
This summer, a horrific family massacre stunned Spain when four people were killed in an act of gang violence. A woman eight months pregnant, her preborn baby, her elderly mother, and a teenage bystander were all shot to death in Andalucia, and two more people were rushed to the hospital with injuries. Authorities say the shooting was retaliation for a 2024 "narco-related incident." It was initially believed the teenage boy was the pregnant woman's son, though it was later determined he was just a bystander who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
“The initial lines of investigation indicate that it could be a settling of scores between members of different clans, although no hypothesis has been ruled out,” the Guardia Civil said in a statement.
Numerous people have been arrested in connection with the murders. Over 80 police officers raided multiple homes across Huelva, with the first three arrests coming earlier this month. Those men were between 26 and 36, and authorities were able to recover a gun, nearly €30,000 in cash, and bulletproof vests.
The men were charged with four counts of murder, including one for the death of the preborn baby.
This week, there were two more arrests of men accused of actually carrying out the murders as hitmen. They allegedly drove by on a motorbike while firing upon the victims. Like the previous suspects, the two men arrested have been charged with four counts of murder.
