Rep. Ann Wagner hits back at Planned Parenthood: ‘Abortion is not healthcare. It kills children.’

This week, Representative Ann Wagner (R-Mo.) spoke on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives in support of defunding Planned Parenthood and instead providing those funds toward Federally Qualified Health Centers and Community Health Centers, which outnumber Planned Parenthood facilities more than 20 to 1 in the nation.

Wagner said that Planned Parenthood has labeled her an “enemy of women’s healthcare” because of her desire to see taxpayer funding removed from the nation’s number one abortion provider. “Nothing could be further from the truth,” Wagner said, explaining exactly why she and others who value human life at every age and stage believe abortion profiteers like Planned Parenthood don’t deserve taxpayer funding. Wagner also called the idea that Planned Parenthood provides mammograms “a fallacy.” She wrote on her Facebook page:

Planned Parenthood, an organization that provides 320,000 abortions every year, has begun attacking me as a supposed enemy of women’s healthcare. Nothing could be further from the truth. In Missouri, there are 12 Planned Parenthood facilities scattered across our 114 counties. However, we have 588 health care clinics that prioritize women’s health and wellness, which is why I voted last Congress to increase funding to those very clinics by hundreds of millions of dollars. #ProLife

Many of the facts presented by Rep. Wagner can be found in the following Live Action video, which debunks Planned Parenthood’s claim that abortion is only a small percentage of what it does. Planned Parenthood has shown in many ways that its true focus is on abortion, not on women’s healthcare:
