Omaha Planned Parenthood struggles as departing staff blame the corporation itself
According to the Flatwater Free Press, Planned Parenthood’s facility in Omaha, Nebraska, has seen an “exodus” of employees who believe Planned Parenthood is largely to blame.
Earlier this year, The New York Times published an exposé on the ‘crisis’ facing Planned Parenthood. According to The New York Times, the abortion chain is facing frequent employee turnover, financial problems, low patient numbers, and patient lawsuits. And now, the Omaha Planned Parenthood is coming clean about similar troubles.
One nurse, Sabrina Stratman, said she was pressured to assist in surgical abortions on more than one occasion, violating Planned Parenthood’s own standard operating procedures. To commit a surgical abortion, the facility is supposed to use an abortionist, two nurses, and several support staff; in these instances, Stratman was the only nurse. She was made to participate even though she told management she felt uncomfortable. Though she eventually left Planned Parenthood, she still supports legal abortion.
“(Planned Parenthood is) kind of creating a ban of its own,” Stratman said. “I didn’t leave because I didn’t believe in the work,” she said. “I left because the environment became unsustainable.”

Together, we can end abortion and create a future where every child is cherished and every mother is supported.
Since then, there has been only one registered nurse remaining who was able to assist with surgical abortions, and that nurse has since resigned as well. As a result, Planned Parenthood in Omaha has committed just three abortions since March. It has also faced a significant no-show rate — 14.7% — with women making appointments to undergo abortions, and then seemingly changing their minds.
The Free Press pointed out, “Employees said turnover has long been an issue at the clinic, but chaotic management over the last year during a major construction project, coupled with unresponsive out-of-state executives, added additional stress,” adding that the affiliate’s executives “are disconnected from the reality in Nebraska and clinics generally… [and there is] a lack of transparency and communication around big decisions.”
“Inconsistent training” was also mentioned as one of the causes for high turnover rates.
The news that Planned Parenthood is a shoddy and unprofessional organization is well known to the pro-life movement, but the pro-abortion media has largely kept quiet about the multiple scandals Planned Parenthood has been involved in. It has been caught aiding child sexual abusers, engaging in Medicaid fraud, and trafficking the body parts of the babies it aborts. Numerous ex-staffers have accused the abortion organization of frequently engaging in racist and sexist behavior, including pregnancy discrimination.
