Dear Congress: Scrutinize all Planned Parenthood affiliates for 'gender' services

Congressional members have re-initiated an investigation into Planned Parenthood’s affiliate that is alleged to have provided minors with sex-rejecting ‘gender affirming care services’ — without parental consent and using federal taxpayer dollars. 

But multiple affiliates are doing the same and should also be investigated.

The Details: 

Although one affiliate faces additional scrutiny over its alleged non-compliance with congressional investigative requests, other Planned Parenthood affiliates who report explosive growth in “gender affirming” services across the country seemingly continue to evade investigation from other government agencies like the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ).

On Friday, May 15, the Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency Chairman Tim Burchett and Congressman Andy Biggs sent a letter to Planned Parenthood of Greater New York (PPGNY), stating that despite requests originally sent on June 13, 2025, PPGNY had “yet to fully comply with the Subcommittee’s letter and provide the requested documents and communications.” The Subcommittee letter further stated: 

Planned Parenthood received nearly $800 million in federal funds in fiscal year (FY) 2023 and is the second largest provider of gender hormone therapies in the United States. The Subcommittee is concerned that Planned Parenthood and its affiliates, including Planned Parenthood of Greater New York (PPGNY), may be commingling federal funds and using them for unpermitted purposes.

It is imperative that federal funds provided to Planned Parenthood via Title X of the Public Health Services Act (Title X), Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) are administered in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

According to its website, PPGNY offers “gender-affirming hormone therapy” (GAHT) for minors 16+ with a “parent present for consent” and also “provides established patients with referrals and support letters for a number of services, including gender affirming surgeries,” which often lead to sterilization, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the White House.  

PPGNY annual reports show the affiliate has experienced a sharp increase in its GAHT visits, steadily increasing from its 2022 reporting to 2025: 

• 2022: 3,843 visits

• 2023: 4,473 visits

• 2024: 5,769 visits 

• 2025: 6,755 visits 

Overall, this amounts a more than 75% increase in merely four years.  

Zoom Out:

While PPGNY faces additional scrutiny over its alleged non-compliance with congressional investigative requests, other Planned Parenthood affiliates report similar explosive growth in “gender affirming” services across the country — while seemingly evading further scrutiny from other government agencies like the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ).

For example: 

• Planned Parenthood Great Northwest Hawaii, Alaska, Indiana, and Kentucky (PPGNHAIK), which was labeled a 2024 Human Rights Campaign LGBTQ+ Health Care Equality Leader, reported that its “Gender-Affirming Care” (GAC) appointments increased over 80% from 2024 (13,432 appointments) to 2025 (24,295 appointments). 

• Planned Parenthood Great Plains (PPGP) reported an over 125% increase in GAC appointments from 2021-22 to 2024-25.

• Planned Parenthood Greater Texas reported an 86% increase in GAC appointments from 2023 to 2024. 

• Planned Parenthood Greater Washington and North Idaho (PPGWNI) reported over 50% increase in its GAC visits from 2024 (3,355 GAC visits) to 2025 (5,059 GAC visits).

This is in addition to other Planned Parenthood affiliates, like Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM) which still currently runs ‘grooming centers’ for teens such as TeenMP (teen’mpower). Teen’MPower specifically targets youth as young as 13, and is often intertwined with its adult version of the program, MPower Albuquerque. Together, these two PPRM groups host all ages ‘drag show’ events,  a ‘Lavender Prom,’ with a promise of “Free Rapid HIV Testing.” Live Action News reported that PPRM’s adult group is listed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a provider in its National Prevention Information Network. And programs such as its holiday ‘Giving Tree,’ which pairs up men from MPower to purchase gifts for Teen’MPower LGBTQ teens. 

The Bottom Line:

Planned Parenthood, which remains an abortion industry giant, and all of its affiliates that specifically target minors through its perverse indoctrination cloaked as ‘sex ed,’ its robust ‘grooming centers’ and clubs, and self-proclaimed leader in sex-rejecting ‘gender affirming care,’  all while receiving fungible taxpayer dollars, deserves to be heavily scrutinized by every government agency possible.
