An abortion facility in Alabama is in hot water after failing to report two abortions committed on an underage girl. The Alabama Department of Public Health released an inspection report citing Reproductive Health Services for refusing to comply with mandatory child abuse reporting requirements, after a 14-year-old girl received two abortions within 15 months.
Under Alabama law, abortion facility staffers must report to the state the names of all pregnant minors and the fathers of their babies, if the father is two years older than the mother. But if the mother is under the age of 14, her information must be reported no matter the age of the father.
In January of 2016, a girl came in to the facility with her mother, who did not speak English. The girl translated for her mother and for the facility staffers. She originally told the staffers that she was born in the year 2000, making her 15 years old. The age or name of the father was not mentioned. When she returned to the facility for the abortion, she brought her birth certificate, which revealed that she was actually born in the year 2002, making her just 13 years old. Staffers did nothing, and did not report the potential abuse as required.

In April of 2017, the same girl returned, pregnant again. And again, she did not disclose the identity or age of the father of her baby. Yet again, staffers failed to report the information to the state, even though there were red flags for sexual abuse or sex trafficking. The abortions were only reported after the state health inspector discovered the failure to report, and the director of the facility then finally reported the information — two years later.
This is not an isolated offense within the abortion industry. Girls who are victims of sexual abuse or human trafficking are often brought to abortion facilities by their abusers or traffickers, and staffers have been found to cover up the child rape or sex trafficking. This has been found to take place in both undercover investigations, as well as in heartbreaking real-world incidents. Abortion facilities like Reproductive Health Services and Planned Parenthood are happy to ask no questions, report no information, and commit the abortion, with no concern or care for the girl possibly being victimized.
This kind of behavior is not just unethical; it’s criminal. And the abortion industry must be held accountable.
