This Isn't Healthcare: Dismembering babies old enough to survive outside the womb
Abortion, the intentional killing of a preborn child, has been sold to the American public as 'healthcare.' But a procedure carried out with the intent of ensuring an innocent human being dies is not healthcare; it is an act of violence. The procedure that demonstrates this perhaps the most graphically is the second trimester D&E abortion.
Induced abortion is the intentional killing of a preborn child; it is not healthcare.
In the second trimester, the most common abortion procedure is a D&E dismemberment abortion.
In a D&E, the abortionist tears the arms and legs off the child and then crushes her skull.
In the second trimester, the most commonly used abortion procedure is a dilation and evacuation (D&E) abortion, which involves the dismemberment of a preborn child. A D&E abortion is typically committed between 14 weeks and 22 weeks of pregnancy. It's important to realize that babies born as young as 21 weeks can and do survive.

The procedure typically takes two days to complete, including time for the cervix to dilate. Sometimes the baby is injected with a feticide to cause cardiac arrest before dismemberment; sometimes not.
Once the cervix is dilated, a suction machine is used to remove the amniotic fluid. Then the abortionist uses a Sopher clamp, which has rows of teeth for grasping, to grip onto the baby's arms and legs and pull them off of the baby. The final blow is the crushing of the child's skull.
Dr. Kathi Aultman, a former abortionist, explained:
"Usually the most difficult part of the procedure is extracting the fetus's head.... The abortionist must open the clamp widely to grasp the head and then crush it so it will fit through the cervix. The abortionist knows he has crushed the skull when a white substance — the fetus' brain — leaks out through the cervix."
The fetal body is 'reassembled' to account for all parts.
It is as horrific as it sounds and it is unnecessary.

Preborn human beings are not 'products of conception' or 'pregnancy tissue'. These euphemisms dehumanize children in the womb and make killing them easier to accept.
In addition to dismembering the innocent child, the D&E abortion can cause uterine perforation, damage to bowel, bladder, and other organs, and infection that can lead to death. D&E procedures have left women "mangled." Physical trauma and injury to the cervix can also put future babies at risk. This isn't healthcare.
In the second trimester, if a pregnancy must end for medical reasons, doctors can carry out a C-section (which takes less than an hour) or induced labor, and attempt to save both mother and child.

"Dismemberment abortions rip a living human being limb from limb, a human being capable of feeling pain, and after 20 weeks capable of living outside of the mother’s womb," said Dr. Donna Harrison, Director of Research of the American Academy of Pro-life Obstetricians and Gynecologists. "The grotesqueness of dismemberment abortion is apparent to anyone who analyzes the procedure."
She added, "These unborn children are our patients who die in a particularly inhumane way during dismemberment abortions. It is important to remember that elective dismemberment abortions are not necessary to save any woman’s life."
