Student group holds abortion pill ‘launch party,’ says injured women can lie to ER staff
According to the student newspaper at Northeastern University in Boston, the abortion pill is now available to students through the University Health and Counseling Services (UHCS).
The abortion pill’s availability comes after a push from the Northeastern University Sexual Health Advocacy, Resources and Education (NU SHARE) club and Dr. Michelle Dalal, medical director of UHCS. NU SHARE circulated a petition to make chemical abortion more readily available to students, especially in light of a state law passed last year requiring all public universities to distribute the abortion pill. NU is a private university and was therefore not subject to the mandate.
In February, NU SHARE hosted a “Medication Abortion Launch Party” to celebrate the fact that preborn children could now be killed right on campus. The event featured an open mic, crafts, food, “safer sex supplies,” and “reproductive justice.”
College students who take the abortion pill in a campus dorm may experience significant risks, as many are without a method of transportation to access emergency health care if they need it. Research carried out by the pro-abortion group Gynuity showed that six percent (6%) of women who took the abortion pill in their study required care at an ER or urgent care facility.

Alarmingly, NU SHARE has actively downplayed these risks by sharing a graphic via Instagram stories instructing students that they can lie if they do experience complications and need emergency treatment. Though the graphic has since been removed, a screenshot was captured and can be seen at The College Fix.

“If a person needs to go to the hospital, they can say they are having a miscarriage,” the graphic instructs students. “There’s no way for medical experts to tell the difference.”
Dr. Donna Harrison, director of research at the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists (AAPLOG), spoke to The College Fix about how dangerous this information can be.
“Abortion drugs have significant risks, with 1 in 25 women visiting the emergency room after taking them according to the FDA’s label,” she said. “It’s important for anyone seeking to support women’s reproductive health not to be cavalier about these risks, including by telling them to lie to ER staff that they are having a miscarriage when they are really facing complications from abortion drugs.”
When young women abort their babies in a college dorm, they are also often left to deal with the excruciating pain and trauma that comes with passing their dead child, with many unprepared for the reality that the abortion requires them to give birth to a dead baby. Stories of the trauma experienced by many of these women can be found in Live Action’s I Saw My Baby campaign.
