Singer Olivia Rodrigo includes abortion fund in $2M donation to ‘women’s health’ charities

Singer Olivia Rodrigo has announced that she is donating over $2 million from the net proceeds of her ticket sales from her Guts World Tour to charities around the world that support ‘women’s health.’ The money will support abortion, and will be donated through Rodrigo’s own pro-abortion fund, known as “Fund 4 Good,” created in 2024.

Ten organizations stand to benefit from the large donation, including Women’s Shelters in Canada, Women Against Violence in Europe, The Pratthanadee Foundation in Thailand, the Korea Foundation for Women and Harmony House Limited in Hong Kong, NPO Women’s Saya-Saya in Japan, Aidha in Singapore, as well as Jhpiego in the Philippines and Wesnet in Australia, which both have shown support for abortion.

But one organization on Rodrigo’s list to receive money is directly helping to fund abortions: The National Network of Abortion Funds. This organization states on its website that it is “building power toward a common goal: abortion access for all.”

“NNAF is a network of nearly 100 abortion funds. Abortion funds are grassroots organizations that support people seeking abortion access,” states the site. “Together, we’re organizing at the crossroads of racial, economic, and reproductive justice.”

The organization promotes DIY, at-home abortions using the abortion pill regimen. This protocol is described on NNAF’s website as meaning that “[women] don’t get in-person or telehealth support from a doctor or clinic.” Unfortunately, this leaves women with no other recourse but a hospital emergency room or urgent care if she experiences abortion pill-related complications.

Last year, Rodrigo partnered with the National Network of Abortion Funds to hand out emergency contraception, lubricants, and condoms at her concerts. However, after receiving significant backlash, it was announced that those handouts would cease. Variety reported at the time:

According to three sources at local abortion funds, that decision came from Rodrigo’s team and was relayed over Slack by the National Network of Abortion Funds, which partnered with the pop star to set up booths at each of her North American tour stops.

Jade Hurley, the communications manager for the DC Abortion Fund, says the NNAF said Rodrigo’s team preferred they no longer pass out lubrication, condoms and Plan B because “children are present at the concerts.”

The National Network of Abortion Funds was well aware that many concert-goers were underage, but argued that even minors should be receiving the sex-related items along with “information materials as well as hats, buttons and stickers” that promoted both abortion and the organization. Rodrigo seems to be openly promoting hookup culture to her young fans, and encouraging them to participate in casual and premarital sex, as well as abortion.
