Pro-life nuns send annual Christmas cards to abortion businesses across the US
According to The Federalist, religious sisters are sending Christmas cards to every abortion facility in the country, and have been doing so for five years.
Founder of the pro-life group And Then There Were None, Abby Johnson, noted that a religious sister's prayers influenced her own decision to leave the abortion industry.
This reportedly gave Johnson the idea to recruit sisters to send Christmas cards to abortion facilities, offering prayers and support to the workers.
Each year, sisters from 20 convents send 22,000 cards.
The Christmas card project, spearheaded by Abby Johnson and her organization, And Then There Were None (ATTWN), began in 2021 and involves religious sisters from 20 different convents in the U.S.
ATTWN sends boxes of cards to the sisters, who then write them to the different abortion businesses, letting workers know that they are prayed for and that there is help if they would like to find work outside of the abortion industry. The cards always feature the Holy Family.
“We thought this would be a great way to reach out, like an extension of our prayer,” Sr. Christina Nazareth, a Capuchin Sister in Pennsylvania, told Patty Knap for The Federalist.
She explained, "All the cards are placed on our altar by the Blessed Sacrament. We pray that our Lord will bless them and get them into the hands that need them."

Johnson told Knap that November and December are the "busiest months" for ATTWN, with the "highest volume of calls from abortion workers who just can't take it anymore." When abortion workers call ATTWN, they are connected with resources for finding new "life-affirming employment" as well as "healing resources."
The cards don't always elicit a positive response. There have been times that the sisters receive "nasty responses," said Karen Herzog, director of marketing and communications at ATTWN. However, she added that the "fruits are evident when 'quitters' share their experience of receiving a card and feeling prompted to reach out for help."
One former abortion worker who received a Christmas card recalled, "I still have it, this beautiful Christmas card. It was handwritten, and basically said, 'Are you looking for a way out? We can help you get out of the abortion industry. Call this number.'" She reportedly brought the card home and called ATTWN, and they helped to connect her with a new job. She also found other former abortion workers to befriend, and took part in abortion healing retreats.
According to ATTWN, 22,000 cards are sent out each Christmas. This year's batch was reportedly sent out within the last week or two.
