Infamous abortionist true crime display heads to Ohio on tour, featuring never-before-seen photos

A display about one of America’s most prolific serial killers is headed for Ohio, including grisly crime scene photos.

On November 7, voters will head to the polls to decide if abortion should be made a ‘right’ in the Ohio state constitution, and the display could help educate people on what goes on behind closed doors at abortion facilities. In the case of notorious abortionist and murderer Kermit Gosnell, his crimes continued without authorities doing anything to stop them.

Husband-wife journalists Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney worked together on a book and a movie about Gosnell, and now, they’ve created a display about the Philadelphia abortionist in Columbus, Ohio.

Gosnell was convicted of murdering three infants in 2013, as well as of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Karnamaya Mongar, one of his adult patients. He is suspected of killing many more children. Gosnell’s facility was referred to as a “house of horrors,” filled with the corpses of dozens of aborted babies, many of whom were frozen. Other victims’ body parts were left in jars, displayed around the facility. Though reports had been made to authorities for years about Gosnell, they went ignored, including the death of another patient, Semika Shaw, in 2000. When the FBI raided his facility in 2010, what they found was shocking:

There is blood on the floor. A stench of urine fills the air. A flea-infested cat wanders through the facility, and there is cat feces on the stairs. Semi-conscious women scheduled for abortions are moaning in the waiting room or the recovery room, where they sit on dirty recliners covered with blood-stained blankets. A row of jars contains the severed feet of fetuses.

Before the FBI finally raided him, Gosnell had killed two women, murdered infants who survived his abortions by snipping their spinal cords, injured countless women, and committed numerous violations. These were repeatedly reported to authorities, but they did nothing to stop him.

Evidence: The Exhibition includes photos, never before seen by the public, of Gosnell’s crimes.

“Dr. Kermit Gosnell murdered in plain sight, but no one seemed to care. These photographs reveal what was really going on behind the closed doors of the Women’s Medical Society at 3801 Lancaster Avenue in Philadelphia,” the website explains, adding, “These photographs show how he ended up there. They are moving and infuriating, showcasing a medical clinic, a workplace, a house of murder and drug-dealing, and the banality of evil.”

In an interview with CatholicVote, McAleer said there are echoes of the previous indifference towards Gosnell’s crimes, as media has completely ignored the exhibition.

“This is a breaking news story in their district,” he said. “The ads are on TV and this is a photographic exhibition on a national news story relevant to the Ohio area. The local media just will not cover it, and the reason they will not cover it is because they can’t handle the truth … the last thing they want is the truth interfering with their political plans.”

Parts of the exhibit are gruesome, and include photos of Gosnell’s murdered victims, but visitors can choose whether or not to pull back the curtains in order to see them.

Eventually, McAleer said the exhibition will travel to every state in the country, but precedence is being placed on states with abortion ballot initiatives following the fall of Roe v. Wade.

“It illustrates what is illegal but also shows what is legal in many states and people would be shocked by what is now allowed behind closed doors in abortion clinics in many states in America,” McAleer said. “It’s important that journalists bring these truths to the public – that’s why we want to bring this crime scene photo exhibition to towns across the nation.”
