Gaming company says Planned Parenthood not ‘valid charity’
Game developer engine Unity has been at the center of controversy for beginning to charge “install” fees for the use of its software. Unity users are able to create and build games that they can sell or use to raise money for charities. Charity game builders, however, were exempt from the new install fees, and Unity has now been accused of telling developers who donate to Planned Parenthood that Planned Parenthood is not a charity, but a political organization — and therefore, it does not qualify.
In a blog post in the Steam Community, adults-only video game company LizardFactory made the accusation.
“It was stated that charity games would be spared, so we asked Unity to get confirmation that we would not be affected, but they believe our targets (Planned Parenthood and C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital) would NOT count as ‘valid charities’ and more ‘political groups,’” LizardFactory said, adding that this move is illegal in the European Union where it is based.

“We did this to raise money for a good cause, not to line the coffers of greedy scumbags,” it continued, claiming that Unity’s move is “mafia-style.”

Together, we can end abortion and create a future where every child is cherished and every mother is supported.
The Daily Wire noted that C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital has been accused of performing child mutilation surgeries under the guise of “trans affirming care.”
Christian gamer Melonie Mac reacted to the controversy. After denouncing Unity’s new pricing policies and mentioning other services Planned Parenthood claims to provide, she said, “[I]n this kind of case, Unity doesn’t want, I imagine, they don’t — and a lot of people who work there don’t — want to feel like they have blood on their hands when they are helping contribute financially to a company that does perform abortions.”
Planned Parenthood currently has a non-profit status, but it has been exposed on more than one occasion as an organization that profits financially from abortion procedures. Planned Parenthood has also consistently worked to fight any law that protects children, and has lobbied local, state, and federal lawmakers to continue their abortion tactics. Just recently, Planned Parenthood sought to get an injunction against a North Carolina law that protects preborn children from abortion after 12 weeks.
“Abortionist Dr. Beverly Gray and Planned Parenthood South Atlantic have requested a preliminary injunction against portions of North Carolina’s new pro-life law, which took effect on July 1. The law protects preborn children from abortion after 12 weeks of pregnancy but allows certain exceptions throughout pregnancy,” noted a previous Live Action News article.
While Planned Parenthood hides behind its tax status, it is clear that it is not a charity, but an organization that profits from the deaths of preborn babies.
