Abortion Pill Reversal

Doctors have saved nearly 400 babies from abortion through abortion pill reversal

Editor’s note: At the time of publication, nearly 400 babies had been saved as a result of abortion pill reversal — over 300 had been born and nearly 100 babies were on the way.

Immediately after taking the first of two pills used to complete a medical abortion, 19-year-old Karen Raya was flooded with regret, and searched the internet for abortion pill reversal. She found Dr. George Delgado’s pioneering research, which saved her preborn baby, now safely growing into her second trimester.

In a recent interview with NBC San Diego, Raya said “the results are a miracle.” A single mom to a toddler, Raya was driven by fear and loneliness, like many other women, toward obtaining an abortion. But after experiencing immediate regret and seeking reversal, she said “hearing the first heartbeat gave me a sense of hope.”

Dr. George Delgado of the Culture of Life Family Services in San Diego, California, along with Dr. Matthew Harrison, has been pioneering a reversal protocol for several years and now receives 100 to 150 calls a month on the abortion pill reversal hotline. Of the women who have undergone the treatment, 60 to 70 percent have successfully carried their pregnancies to term, Dr. Delgado told NBC San Diego.

The protocol occurs after a patient has taken the first of two medications used to induce a medical abortion – mifepristone. This medication blocks progesterone production, necessary to sustain a healthy pregnancy, and causes the uterine lining to break down. Essentially it starves the preborn baby, who will soon die. The second medication used to complete a medical abortion is misoprostol, distributed to women at the abortion facility with instructions to take later at home. Misoprostol causes the uterus to contract and expel the preborn baby, ending the pregnancy. Watch as former abortionist, Dr. Anthony Levatino, explains this process in the video below:

Dr. Delgado seeks to reverse the effect of the first medication by prescribing progesterone so the woman’s body will reverse the effects and be able to carry the preborn baby to term. Due to his pioneering research, Karen is one of hundreds of women who have successfully reversed their abortions and had healthy pregnancies.

Emily, another woman who successfully reversed her abortion, was overcome with the fear of being pregnant and took the first pill. “On the drive home I was consumed with guilt and regret. I cried the whole way home . . . I started looking online . . .and came across a website discussing a reversal process, and it had a phone number. I was filled with hope, but also doubt that it was real or attainable.”

“I remember hearing my son’s heartbeat for the first time around Thanksgiving,” she said, and then gave birth to her son Ezekiel the following July. “I am forever changed into a new person because of my son and what I went through to bring him into this world. He is the absolute best thing that has ever happened to me . . . I hope everyone when faced with this choice chooses life, but thankfully, if they make a mistake like mine, there’s a second chance, which is the reversal process.”

Another mom, Amy Mendoza, was lied to by a Colorado Planned Parenthood facility that told her reversal was not possible. She was grateful to find the reversal hotline, and says, “every time I look at him, I’m just so thankful.”

Summer and Jason are now proud parents of their daughter Finley, who was saved after her parents immediately regretted their decision to obtain an abortion. Summer had convinced herself there was no other option, but on the way home from taking the first pill, “the anguish and regret grew so overwhelming we had to pull over on the side of the road,” Summer explained. “We knew we had made the biggest mistake of our lives.” Finley was born around Christmas last year due to the abortion reversal protocol, and is now the joy of her family’s lives. “Everyone is so happy and crazy in love with our daughter. She has changed all of our lives for the better, and we are forever grateful,” her mother said.

These parents are not alone in regretting their abortion decision and seeking help to reverse the effects of mifepristone. Over 300 women have successfully delivered their babies after undergoing the protocol. Further evidence of the protocol’s integrity and potential will be released in Dr. Delgado’s studies later this year.

If you or someone you know regrets taking the abortion pill, it may not be too late to save your preborn baby. Help is available at AbortionPillReversal.com or 1-877-558-0333.
