Zara Larsson loses $3 million deal following her 'abortion joke'
Singer Zara Larsson, who earlier this month faced backlash for a joke she made regarding a fan's abortion, announced she lost a $3 million deal as a result.
In early March, Larsson made a coarse joke about a fan's abortion on social media.
She received both support and criticism; she responded by saying she believed her joke was funny and that abortion should not be taboo.
Last week, she announced that she lost a $3 million deal because of the joke.
In a video posted last week, Larsson said:
"I mean, just like, lately with the abortion joke, which was very funny by the way, I lost like a $3 million deal, and I was like, okay, what the f* like. If you don't agree with me thinking that women should have access to abortion or that we could have like a joking conversation about it, we're just not meant to be partners, and I don't give a F* about it! You can give me a million DMs. You can send me a million comments about 'Boo, boo, boo, boo, boo, you're a bad person, you're the wicked witch.' I don't give a rat's a** because I'm so sure of my stance in that."

Fans asked her to name the company that ended its partnership with her so that they could boycott it.
In early March, a comment made by Larsson on social media sparked controversy. A fan shared a video from a Larsson concert on social media and wrote, "I didn't know I was pregnant here but at least my baby got to hear 'Midnight Sun' before I aborted it."
Larsson commented, "I killed the performance and then you killed it after the performance purrrrrr."
Following criticism, she said, she was "not here to convince you guys that abortion is healthcare or whatever" but that she found that joke "funny" and doesn't think abortion should be "taboo."
As a person of social influence, Larsson's comments on abortion are likely to have a wide impact on the young women who follow her. She feels confident in her support for abortion as a woman's right, but what that means is that she is supporting the intentional and discriminatory killing (and she did, indeed, call it "killing") of millions of human beings, ultimately treating them as 'life unworthy of life.' Because Larsson admits that abortion is killing, she is also admitting that human embryos and fetuses are alive before they are killed.
Killing people inside the womb results in the death of that human being, as does killing people outside the womb:
The abortion pill deprives the developing human of oxygen and nutrients, essentially starving her to death. That human being is then expelled using a second drug that causes strong contractions.
A D&C induced abortion involves suctioning the baby out of the uterus, ripping the fragile body to pieces.
A D&E abortion takes more effort on the part of the abortionist, as he must use a Sopher clamp to tear off the baby's arms and legs before crushing her skull.

Each of these procedures kills a living human being, but it also causes harm to the mother.
The abortion pill causes extreme pain, extreme bleeding, and can lead to hemorrhage, incomplete abortion, infection, and sepsis.
A D&C carries the risks of cervical or uterine tear, hemorrhage, and infection.
A D&E carries the risks of uterine tear, hemorrhage, holes punctured in the uterus and surrounding organs, and infection.
Every abortion carries the risk of mental health issues. More than 60% of women who have had abortions, said they did so under pressure to abort. Abortion increases the risk of drug use, alcohol use, anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts.
Induced abortion is not the empowering, feminist act that Larsson thinks it is.
