State, federal statistics reveal that Planned Parenthood is an abortion corporation

Planned Parenthood, abortion corporation

Planned Parenthood dominates the abortion market.

Former employees of the abortion organization have admitted that, contrary to the organization’s claim that abortion makes up only 3% of its services, everything Planned Parenthood does has the end goal of abortion. As Planned Parenthood’s government funding increases (it’s currently around half a billion dollars annually), so does Planned Parenthood’s share of abortions (35 percent) in the United States, even while abortion numbers are decreasing nationally.

But this trend toward Planned Parenthood’s increasing market share isn’t just a national one. In states which record abortions by facility, statistics show that Planned Parenthood centers perform a large percentage of state abortions, and those market shares are on the increase as well. States that publish lists of licensed abortion facilities show that Planned Parenthood is crushing its competitors.

ARIZONA: A list of licensed abortion clinics (last updated in July of 2016), reveals that 50 percent of abortion facilities in Arizona are Planned Parenthood centers.

ARKANSAS: Two-thirds of the licensed abortion facilities in Arkansas were Planned Parenthood centers as of December 2016. The list, published by the Arkansas Department of Health, has since been removed.

CONNECTICUT: A report to the State Legislature in 2014 indicated that 4 out of 6 facilities offering abortions were Planned Parenthood centers. However, a 2016 report published by the Bridgeport Diocese indicates there may now be as many as 18 licensed abortion centers in the state. A January 2017 query at CT.gov reveals that all but one of those 18 facilities is a Planned Parenthood facility. This means that Planned Parenthood makes up more than 94 percent of the state’s abortion clinics.

FLORIDA: Nearly 24 percent (15 out of 60) of licensed abortion facilities in Florida are Planned Parenthood centers, according to a query of abortion clinics conducted at the Agency for Healthcare Administration in September of 2017.

GEORGIA: One-third of the abortion facilities in Georgia are Planned Parenthood centers, according to a searchable site at the Georgia Department of Community Health. Today Planned Parenthood advertises online that at least half of its facilities commit abortions.

KANSAS: The Kansas Department of Health and Environment shows Planned Parenthood’s Overland Park facility is the only licensed facility in the state, despite the fact that the Wichita Planned Parenthood advertises abortion services. At least one other abortion facility exists.

MARYLAND: 17 percent of Maryland’s twelve licensed abortion facilities are Planned Parenthood centers, according to a list published by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene on September 1, 2017. It should be pointed out that five Planned Parenthoods offer abortion services online, despite only two being licensed. If we add those into the mix, (7 out of 12) the figure changes to 42 percent.

MISSOURI: 100% of licensed abortion facilities in Missouri are Planned Parenthoods, according to a September 2017 list published by the Missouri Department of Health. The state recorded a total of 7,474 abortions for 2015.

NORTH CAROLINA: Planned Parenthood abortion facilities made up 33 percent (5 out of 15) of the licensed abortion clinics in North Carolina, according to a list published by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. However, online, Planned Parenthood advertises abortion services at six locations, which would bring the figure to 40 percent.

OKLAHOMA: Planned Parenthood makes up 25 percent of the state’s licensed abortion facilities, according to a directory published by the Oklahoma State Department of Health in September 2017.

PENNSYLVANIA: A query of licensed abortion facilities in Pennsylvania revealed that nearly 37 percent (7 out of 19) were Planned Parenthood facilities. The list appears to be outdated but does give a snapshot of Planned Parenthood’s abortion performance in the state. According to research conducted by the Pennsylvania Family Institute, in 2015, Planned Parenthood performed 17,513 abortions in Pennsylvania — 55 percent of the state’s total abortions (31,818), an increase of 2.5 percent from 2014. PFI notes:

Statewide abortions have decreased by 7,000 annually since 2008 while Planned Parenthood abortions in PA have increased by more than 1,500 annually over the same time period.

SOUTH CAROLINA: In 2015, 11,643 abortions were reported to the state of South Carolina. A September 2017 list of licensed abortion facilities, published by the South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control Division of Health Licensing, reveals that Planned Parenthood currently makes up 100% of the licensed abortion facilities in the state.

SOUTH DAKOTA: Planned Parenthood centers are also 100% of licensed abortion facilities in South Dakota, according to a September 2017 query of licensed abortion providers with the state. The most recent abortion statistics show that 444 abortions were committed in South Dakota in 2015.

TEXAS: Almost 63 percent of licensed abortion facilities (5 out of 8) in Texas are Planned Parenthood centers, according to an online list at the Texas Department of State Health Services accessed in September of 2017.

A list published by the largest association of professional abortion providers, the National Abortion Federation (NAF), demonstrates further how Planned Parenthood dominates the abortion market. While it may be true that not every abortion facility is necessarily a member of NAF in every state (including some Planned Parenthood facilities), the list below (researched in January 2017) shows just how much Planned Parenthood dominates among NAF members. The numbers below represent the percentage of NAF abortion facilities which are Planned Parenthood centers:

  • Colorado: 73 percent (11 out of 15)
  • Delaware: 75 percent (3 out of 4)
  • Minnesota: 33 percent (2 of 6)
  • Nevada: Almost 29 percent (2 of 7)
  • New Hampshire: 40 percent (2 out of 5)
  • New Jersey: 94 percent (17 out of 18)
  • New Mexico: 40 percent (2 of 5)
  • New York: 72 percent (21 out of 29)
  • Oregon: 83 percent (5 of 6)
  • Pennsylvania: 43 Percent (6 out of 14)
  • Tennessee: 25 percent
  • Utah: 50 percent (1 out of 2)
  • Vermont: 100 percent (5 out of 5)
  • Washington: 30 percent (3 of 10)

Simply doing an internet search for abortion turns up predominantly Planned Parenthood centers, with the exception of a few other abortion businesses.

Planned Parenthood claims to offer other services such as anemia testing, cholesterol screening, diabetes screening, physical exams (including for employment and sports), flu vaccines, help with quitting smoking, screening for high blood pressure, tetanus vaccines, thyroid screening, and more. And yet, Planned Parenthood’s website rarely appears in the top searches for any of these services.

On the other hand, if you Google “abortion pill,” “get abortion,” “abortion cost,” “abortion info,” “where can I get an abortion,” “early abortion,” “abortion 20 weeks,” “abortion medical,” “abortion options,” “make abortion appointment” – Planned Parenthood is there.

The reason for this is simple: Planned Parenthood is primarily an abortion corporation which does not serve the entire health spectrum of society. And the clients Planned Parenthood does serve are dwindling year after year. What else is dwindling? Planned Parenthood’s non-abortion services.

Planned Parenthood may claim its purpose is as a “health care” agency, but numbers from official reports show otherwise. Today, Planned Parenthood will receive $1.5 million in taxpayer dollars, while ending the lives of 900 preborn babies.

It is long past time to defund Planned Parenthood.
