Rape victim’s family beats and kicks her to force abortion of 8-month-old baby

In a tale so gruesome it’s hard to digest, The Dallas Morning News revealed that after a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a family member and became pregnant, family members reportedly gave her multiple doses of birth control pills, Plan B, and cinnamon to induce an abortion.

When that failed, they brutally beat her for six hours to induce abortion, stopping only when the girl was bleeding heavily.

Two hours later, the victim delivered an eight-month-old stillborn baby. The family then tried “to cover up the crime by burning the stillborn baby on a charcoal grill.” The forced abortion by the family is garnering national headlines and horror.

The Dallas Morning News reports that the girl was allegedly raped by a family member in August 2012, and her family found out she was pregnant in early 2013. Their motive, they say, was fear that Child Protective Services (CPS) would remove children from their home if CPS found out about the sexual assault. In one of the most tragic displays of irony imaginable, the family then tried to remove the preborn child from the girl by beating and assaulting her.

The family members involved in the brutal assault and forced abortion of the girl are in jail with bail set at $150,000, except for the man accused of raping her, who was arrested Wednesday. The paper reports that 22-year-old Robert Joseph Cayald is only being held on $25,000 bail. The horrific crimes and the low bail amounts are causing outrage among many commenters.

Dallas Morning News reports:

The officer giving a press briefing is visibly grieved as he reports the facts. After the briefing, he commends the victim for her bravery for reporting “this unbelievable crime.”

Readers didn’t mince words on this horror:

“Why are these savages not being charged with murder?”“Regarding the precious teen who was beaten so that she would abort a baby is barbaric. Only foreign countries were the only ones I thought who had such barbaric ways. None of the five people should ever be able to be free on the streets ever again. They committed murder, they took that baby’s life and tried to kill the mother. ”“These low life thugs burned an 8th month old baby in a charcoal grill after  beating a 14 year old girl for six hours so that baby would die and the bail is only $150,000?  Something is very wrong here”.“This is the most Horrible thing I have ever read in my entire life. I almost wish I didn’t read it. Such a TRAGEDY.  That poor Poor girl and her innocent baby. ”

It is certainly correct to say that this baby was murdered, despite the reality that in the United States, there are places where the victim could have had a legal abortion. A forced abortion by brutal assault killed a baby and stole the innocence of a young girl a second time.

The girl, now 16, was taken into protective custody, along with the other children in the household, including the victim’s brother, 15, and sister,14, and the four children of another family member who was charged in the assault. Those children range from ages three to nine.
