Pregnant woman threatened & assaulted for refusing abortion
After learning of her pregnancy, a man in West Virginia allegedly assaulted his girlfriend when she refused to abort their unborn child. From LifeNews:
The incident took place last Saturday at [48-year-old Bruce] Cook’s apartment … Officers say the woman told them that Cook told her to have the abortion and held a knife to her stomach and made the request again saying he would abort the baby if she didn’t.
The complaint against Cook, filed in Kanawha Magistrate Court, indicates Cook then picked up his former girlfriend and carried her to a bed where he began sexually molesting her. Despite her pleas to stop, he refused. The woman was finally escape to get away and fled the scene — where she later contacted police about the incident.
Are incidents of assault and homicide of pregnant women more common than we think?
