Abortionist responsible for woman's death calls 911 for serious injury to another abortion patient
An abortionist responsible for the death of at least one woman and other women's injuries recently sent another patient to the hospital with a perforated uterus.
Lisa Perreira, an abortionist at Cherry Hill Women’s Center in New Jersey, is known for her role in the death of Lakisha Wilson in 2014.
She is known to have injured multiple other women, yet continues to commit abortions.
Another of Perreira's patients has been sent to the emergency room, this time with a perforated uterus.
Lisa Perreira is an abortionist who has worked at multiple abortion facilities across the country, many of which operate under unsafe conditions, and is perhaps most known for her role in the 2014 death of Lakisha Wilson, which was likely preventable.
While working at Preterm, an abortion facility in Cleveland, Ohio, Perreira recorded Wilson’s gestational age as 19 weeks and four days, which was just three days before the legal abortion limit in Ohio. Yet Wilson's autopsy results revealed she was close to 23 weeks gestation. It's not clear if Perreira deliberately changed the gestational age to circumvent Ohio law, or if it was an instance of malpractice.
After the abortion, Wilson was not properly monitored; when her uterus failed to contract, this caused her to begin hemorrhaging, and she experienced cardiopulmonary arrest. She had already suffered “fatal brain damage all before a Preterm employee finally was told to call 911 for help.”
By the time EMS finally arrived, Wilson had not been breathing for almost 30 minutes. Even then, EMS struggled to reach Wilson, as the facility's elevator was not functional. They replaced her ill-fitting oxygen mask with one that fit properly and were able to resuscitate her, but were unable to intubate her:
… paramedics could not intubate her, which was necessary to ensure that she was receiving enough oxygen. This was because the elevator was so cramped that they could not lay the gurney flat, which was required for intubation.
Wilson tragically died.
Since then, Perreira has injured more women, and left Preterm to work at other facilities. This includes the Philadelphia Women’s Center, which was issued a list of health code violations in 2020 by the state of Pennsylvania, including infractions such as illegally supplying abortion pills to minors without their parents’ knowledge or consent.
Operation Rescue revealed that, on October 14, 2026, Perreira called 911 to request an ambulance to Cherry Hill Women's Center after a woman's uterus was perforated during an abortion late in the second trimester. Perreira stated on the call (emphasis added):
“Hi, um, this is Doctor Perriera at Cherry Hill Women’s Center. We have a patient that, we have confirmed has a uterine perforation.
We just completed a procedure at 25 weeks’ gestation on the patient; there was concern for a uterine perforation. Patient is clinically stable, but she needs to be transferred."
Then, in the background, Perreira could be heard telling a staffer, “Go and write your note and we have to have a detailed explanation of what we found."
It's not confirmed that Perreira directly committed the abortion which led to the uterine perforation, or what was found afterward that needed documenting. It's also not known if the patient survived or how seriously she was injured.
Abortionists like Perreira are able to continue injuring women because the abortion industry is shockingly underregulated, and not held to the same standards as the health care industry to which abortionists claim to belong.
