POLL: Missouri voters divided over critical Amendment 3
A recent poll found a close margin between voters regarding Missouri’s Amendment 3, which is on the state ballot for the November election, and that support for the amendment regulating abortion and “transgender” procedures for minors has declined since February.
If Amendment 3 fails in November, abortion will be largely unregulated in the state, likely leading to an increase in preborn lives lost, and the potential provision of dangerous and irreversible “transgender” procedures for minors.
A poll of 900 likely Missouri voters, conducted by SLU/YouGov in August shows a strong divide between Missouri voters on Amendment 3, with 43% of likely voters responding that they plan to vote “Yes” on the amendment, and 44% responding that they plan to vote “No.”
The latest poll shows a drop in support for Amendment 3 since February, when 50% of respondents indicated support for the amendment, and 39% responded that they planned to oppose it.
Of the Missourians polled, 13% of respondents said they were unsure on the amendment in August, compared to 11% responding “unsure” in February.
“Yes” is the pro-life vote on Amendment 3 in Missouri’s November election.
In 2024, Missouri voters narrowly approved Amendment 3, a radical pro-abortion amendment with the same name as the pro-life amendment on the ballot for this November. The amendment passed two years ago removed essentially all protections for preborn children by making abortion a constitutional right in the state of Missouri, opening up the possibility of abortions committed up until birth; the amendment also removed health and safety standards requirements for abortion facilities as well as informed consent requirements, including the provision of an ultrasound to women prior to abortion.
A vote “Yes” on the Amendment 3 on the ballot for this November will:
Reinstate health and safety standards for abortion facilities, and allow inspections.
Reestablish the ability of women and others to sue abortionists for malpractice, injury, and death.
Restore informed consent requirements for women seeking abortions.
Restore parental consent for minors seeking abortions.
Limit taxpayer-funding for abortion.
Prohibit fetal organ harvesting.
Prohibit “transgender” procedures for minors, including sex-change surgeries, cross-sex hormones, and puberty blockers for children.
Amendment 3 will not ban abortion in cases of rape and incest (under 12 weeks’ gestation), emergencies, or fetal anomalies, but would ensure regulations such as licensing for abortionists and abortion facilities.
The latest poll conducted by SLU/YouGov surveying 900 likely Missouri voters suggests a slight drop in support for the pro-life Amendment 3 on the ballot from earlier in the year.
In August, 43% of likely voters responded that they planned to vote “Yes” on the amendment, and 44% said they planned to vote “No.”
In February, 50% of respondents indicated support for the amendment, and 39% responded that they planned to oppose it.

More men than women support regulating abortion and “transgender” procedures for children, with 46% of men and 40% of women in favor of the amendment. While 65% of Republicans surveyed support Amendment 3, just 20% of Democrats were in favor of the amendment.
Missouri’s Amendment 3 aims to protect vulnerable preborn babies, women, and underage girls seeking abortion, and children deceived by “transgender” ideology and lured by irreversible “sex-change” procedures.
