'DEFUND 250': Planned Parenthood's history of helping child predators

On July 4, 2026, America will celebrate the 250th anniversary of her founding — but unless Congress votes to continue banning federal Medicaid dollars from abortion providers like Planned Parenthood, July 4 will also be the day that America's most prolific killer of preborn children will see those taxpayer dollars once again pouring into its bank accounts.

Planned Parenthood deserves to be permanently defunded — and Live Action News' series, 'DEFUND 250,' plans to remind the public of many reasons why.

As a self-proclaimed health care provider, Planned Parenthood is a mandated reporter of child abuse and suspected child abuse. But for years, it has shown itself to be an unwilling reporter, often caught protecting the abusers and abandoning minor girls to their predators.

Yet, for decades, hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars have been funneled by the government to Planned Parenthood. Years of undercover reporting demonstrates that Planned Parenthood is a friend to child sex offenders and should be defunded for good.

Key Takeaways:

  • For decades, Planned Parenthood has been known to protect child abusers and turn a blind eye to child sexual abuse.

  • Undercover investigations and real-life court cases have exposed Planned Parenthood's consistent failure to report suspected cases of sexual abuse as required by law.

  • Instead of reporting the abuse, Planned Parenthood often commits abortions on the victims, takes money from their abusers, and then sends the victims back with their abusers, allowing the cycle to continue.

  • Undercover investigations have shown Planned Parenthood staffers telling "sex traffickers" how they could lie to get abortions for their victims.

The Details:

Most recently, Planned Parenthood made headlines in relation to the Epstein Files, in which it was revealed that Epstein gave $1,000 cash to one of his sex trafficking ring's victims to undergo an abortion at a Planned Parenthood facility.

"When [redacted] was 17/18 years old she found out she was pregnant. [Redacted] called the office to talk to LESLEY, saying she needed to speak to EPSTEIN as soon as possible because she needed money to get an abortion. [Redacted] said the procedure would cost her $400. LESLEY was able to get EPSTEIN on the phone right away and EPSTEIN gave [Redacted] $1000 in an envelope. [Redacted] then went to Planned Parenthood."

Planned Parenthood's relationship with sexual predators has been long, financially profitable, and caught on camera. It's also been detailed in court cases.

#1: ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell’: Planned Parenthood sends pre-teen victims back to sexual abusers

Live Action exposed Planned Parenthood's cover-up of the sexual abuse of girls as young as 12 under its “don’t ask/don’t tell” policies. Former sexual health educator Monica Cline worked for Planned Parenthood for 10 years and said she believes Planned Parenthood has a "distorted" view of child abuse victims:

And so their view of our children is distorted. It’s dehumanized. I don’t know why their hearts are hardened, but they are. ...

Um, one of the things that they even mentioned was, they adopted [a] don’t ask, don’t tell [policy]…. If we don’t ask how old her partner is, we don’t have to tell. And so, Planned Parenthood actually allows victims of human trafficking to continue to be victims of human trafficking. And they’re okay with that.

I went back to my office and I told my supervisor, like — listen, I’m trying to teach them about key concepts on Title X; they’re admitting that they’re not gonna report cases of statutory rape.

The response from my supervisor was, “Your job is to teach them key concepts, and that’s it.” She was really upset with me that I challenged that.

#2: Former Planned Parenthood staff: We were told not to report sexual abuse

Former Planned Parenthood employee Catherine Adair explained the organization routinely allowed sexual abusers into the counseling rooms with their victims.

“There’d be girls coming in with their abusers…. Even if I went to the manager and I said, 'Look, there’s something going on here,' she would say, ‘She’s better off with the abortions. We can’t do anything about what’s going on at home but at least we can give her the abortion.’”

Former Planned Parenthood manager, the late Sue Thayer, once said, "We were all required to be mandatory reporters, but if we saw a case [of]... questionable abuse, or even for sure — I mean, this kid is being abused — um, we really were discouraged from calling it in, just because, uh, they didn't want to have the trouble, the angry parent, uh, the angry boyfriend, whatever it was. So, more than once I was told, 'No, that is not reportable — you don't need to call it in"

Former Planned Parenthood employee Marianne Anderson shared an instance of a girl who described living in a place with many other young women, little food, and little clothing, but this did not raise any red flags for Planned Parenthood.

#3: Aiding Abusers: Planned Parenthood tells ‘sex traffickers’ they can pose as guardians

At a New York Planned Parenthood, an employee told undercover investigators posing as sex traffickers that they could apply for Planned Parenthood’s “family planning benefit program,” the “pimp” asks the staffer, “Could we even sign off as a guardian? Is that possible?”

Planned Parenthood told him, “If you were writing their support letter, yeah, you could say that you just take care of them, you support them.”

Similar situations played out at several Planned Parenthood locations across the country.

#4: ‘We never tell’: Planned Parenthood helps minors travel ‘every day’ for abortions

In 2023, Project Veritas (PV) went undercover into a Planned Parenthood facility in Missouri.

The undercover video showed a conversation between a woman said to be the Managing Director of Planned Parenthood in Kansas City and a male PV investigator. The male investigator inquired about getting an abortion for a 13-year-old girl and said her parents were unaware that she was pregnant.

The girl was not present, yet Planned Parenthood appeared willing to assist the man, who could have been abusing the girl. They told him they could help get her across the border to Kansas for an abortion and said they take girls across state lines "every day."

“In Planned Parenthood we consider you [a 13-year-old child] an adult… You can make the decision, then we got you,” Lashauna states. “We never tell the parents anything, she’s an adult in our clinics.”

This is in defiance of state law, which says a 13-year-old cannot consent to sex (or abortion).

#5: Lawsuit: Planned Parenthood sent teen back to sex abuser

Cary Smith of Colorado filed a lawsuit against Planned Parenthood for failing to report suspected child abuse to authorities. Smith's 13-year-old daughter, R.Z. was taken to Planned Parenthood by her abusive stepfather in 2012. He had been secretly abusing her since she was six years old.

According to the lawsuit, four Planned Parenthood staff members spoke with R.Z. and her stepfather but did not ask R.Z. about potential abuse and didn't notify state authorities of suspected child abuse (a requirement when a child is pregnant). She was sent home with her abuser, who continued to rape her.

When R.Z. admitted the abuse to her mother, Smith immediately reported the abuse to authorities and contacted Planned Parenthood for medical records. It was then that Smith learned that R.Z. was forced by her step-father into a secret abortion.

#6: Ohio Planned Parenthood settles after accusations of failure to report sexual abuse

Denise Fairbanks was sexually abused by her father beginning at 13, and at 16, he took her to Planned Parenthood to get an abortion. Denise told Planned Parenthood staff that her father was raping her, but staff did not report it, and sent her home with her father.

According to her attorney, Brian Hurley, Planned Parenthood told her, "If you're going to sleep around you need to get on birth control."

Denise responded, "This was not supposed to happen. I was forced to do things I didn't want to do."

Planned Parenthood still did nothing.

Eventually, Denise confided in her basketball coach, who reported the abuse, and her father was imprisoned. Denise sued Planned Parenthood for failing to report her abuse and protect her, and the case was settled.

#7: Sex trafficking victims: Planned Parenthood “didn’t ask questions”

The Health Consequences of Sex Trafficking and Their Implications for Identifying Victims in Healthcare Facilities study found that of the 66 sex trafficking victims they learned about, 55% had undergone at least one abortion. More than 30% had multiple abortions, and many of those abortions were committed at Planned Parenthood.

“No one ever asked me anything anytime I ever went to a clinic," said one trafficking victim. "… I was on birth control during the 10 years I was on the streets – mostly Depo-Provera shots which I got at the Planned Parenthood and other neighborhood clinics. I also got the morning-after pill from them. I was young and so I had to have a waiver signed in order to get these.”

Another survivor said, "At least one of my [six] abortions was from Planned Parenthood because they didn’t ask any questions."

#8: Planned Parenthood ignored another victim’s sexual abuse and multiple abortions

Court records from Washington state show that George Savanah had sexually abused his daughter, impregnating her three times and then taking her to Planned Parenthood for abortions.

The victim, referred to as “R” in the court documents, testified that her father raped her for the first time when she was 14. The abuse lasted for seven years, and when she cried, he would tell her to "shut up and take it like a woman."

At age 14, 16, and 17, she became pregnant and each time, her father brought her to Planned Parenthood, which should have automatically triggered suspicion of potential abuse. Yet, court documents show there was no effort on the part of Planned Parenthood to report suspected abuse.

#9: 15 times Planned Parenthood was caught helping a rapist

It isn't just one Planned Parenthood location that has been known to ignore sexual abuse. Despite mandatory reporting laws in every state, Planned Parenthood has aided an untold number of sexual predators:

15 of those stories can be read briefly here.

#10: Former sex educator: Planned Parenthood ‘grooms’ girls for abortions

Monica Cline also accused Planned Parenthood staffers of not reporting cases where pimps brought in their prostitutes, thinking it would discourage future clients in similar situations. Still, after she attended a human trafficking conference, she thought what she learned would be helpful to other Planned Parenthood staffers. That's not what happened.

Cline explained (empahsis added):

I was teaching on human trafficking and statutory rape, and was telling Planned Parenthood staff of Corpus Christi and the Gulf Coast, basically, you’ve got to report when you see a girl coming in with an older man that you can tell is not her father. You know something’s wrong, you’ve got to report that; it’s considered human trafficking. It is also considered statutory rape; you’ve got to report this. And they started laughing.

The Bottom Line:

Planned Parenthood has been an advocate for sexual predators while receiving millions of dollars from taxpayers and getting support from lawmakers, including presidents. It's time to defund Planned Parenthood for good.
