“Converted: from abortion provider to pro-life activist”

An important message for the pro-life movement

When considering an important issue, it is always a good idea to take many views into consideration. For pro-lifers, those who once worked within the abortion industry – and who are now pro-life – have a truly unique perspective on abortion.

The Pro-Life Action League, wishing to express this perspective, hosted a conference last Saturday entitled “Converted: From Abortion Provider to Pro-Life Activist.” Many speakers were present, including Abby Johnson, Dr. John Bruchalski, Catherine Adair, and others, all of whom used to be involved in the abortion industry.

“The Pro-Life Action League previously sponsored six similar conferences, with the title ‘Meet the Abortion Providers,’ between 1987-1995,” says John Jansen, co-director of Generations for Life, “[v]ideo footage of which is available on YouTube and which still generates great interest many years later.” Jansen continues:

As we approach the 40th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions that legalized abortion-on-demand throughout all nine months of pregnancy, we need to continually re-present the argument that legalized abortion is a nightmare of epic proportions. Those who have actually worked in the abortion industry are able to make this case from a unique perspective.

We also know that many individuals who are currently working in the ‘pro-choice’ movement and the abortion industry closely monitor our activities, and some of them are, at the very least, not entirely comfortable working the field of abortion. We hope and pray that they will honestly consider the perspectives of the speakers at the ‘Converted’ conference, and that they, too, will leave the abortion industry.

In fact, the presentation that Abby Johnson will be giving at the conference is about her new outreach ministry to abortion clinic workers, entitled And Then There Were None.

More information on the conference is available here.
