Churches create ‘Love Boxes’ for women considering abortion

A national pro-life organization has launched an initiative involving Love Boxes that are given to young women with unplanned pregnancies who may be targeted for abortion. Thousands of Love Boxes have been issued around the nation from the Embrace Grace corporate office in Hurst, Texas, but now they have ignited the church to get involved as well.

Share the Love outreach events can be hosted within churches, empowering the church to get involved in helping moms be brave and choose life. They rally their members for a fun evening to assemble love boxes that include items like Best Gift Ever Onesie, Brave Girl Journal, A Bump in Life book full of stories of moms that have chosen life, a hand-written letter that members write at the event encouraging a mom to choose life, and an invitation to an Embrace Grace group that is hosted within the church. Hundreds of boxes are assembled at these church outreach events, complete with worship music and cowbells cheering each other on every time a case of 20 boxes are complete. Once all boxes are assembled, they are then delivered to a local pregnancy center that they partner with to be given to young women with positive pregnancy tests.

These boxes are getting into the hands of women that are considering abortion and these gifts are inspiring women to be brave and choose life.

A young woman in Texas had an abortion scheduled within a few days when a friend found out about her plans, she reached out to the Embrace Grace offices and they immediately issued a Love Box for her friend to give to her.

“I was there when she opened it,” the friend told Embrace Grace. “When she first saw the box she was just like, ‘What’s this?’ So I told her when I got her text message about what she was doing that day, that I had contacted Embrace Grace for prayer and they prayed for you and they wanted you to know that you are loved and they wanted you to have this box. Her response was, ‘So people that don’t even know me prayed for me?’ And she started crying. All of this was before she even opened it. She then opened it and she just thought it was so pretty. What really did it for her was the baby onesie. She looked at it and balled her eyes out and hugged it and said, ‘This is my baby and I can do this, I can do this.’ She just couldn’t believe that ‘these people’ that didn’t know her prayed for her and took the time to give her this Love Box. She took pictures of it and everything.”

Girls like these are being impacted to choose life all around the nation because they realize that they are never alone. Pastors are excited to have a practical way to be pro-love in their communities and strengthen their relationship between the pregnancy centers and the church.

“The Love in a Box Outreach night was a huge success, I loved seeing our members writing the letters and packing the boxes. It was truly a great night of serving and everyone had a lot of fun in the process. I would highly recommend doing this as an outreach at your church and I look forward to doing it again next year at Gateway Church,” Pastor Josh Briscoe of Gateway Grand Prairie told Embrace Grace.
