AG James Uthmeier tells Lila Rose how Florida is in the 'fight for life'
Live Action founder and president Lila Rose recently sat down with Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier for an exclusive conversation about abortion and pro-life policies, particularly in Florida.
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier spoke with Live Action president Lila Rose about the many ways the state of Florida has worked to protect preborn lives.
He cited the state's heartbeat bill, defeat of a pro-abortion amendment, legal action against Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry, and more.
He also touched on efforts to stop commercial surrogacy and protect children from online predators.

AG Uthmeier highlighted some of the ways that Florida has been a leader in protecting the vulnerable, noting that since the state's heartbeat law took effect, prohibiting abortion after the preborn child's heartbeat can be detected (around six weeks), an estimated 40,000-50,000 babies have been saved from abortion.
Additionally, under the leadership of Governor Ron DeSantis, the state was able to defeat a proposed amendment that would have enshrined abortion as a constitutional "right."
He also discussed legal actions taken against Planned Parenthood, as his office filed a deceptive trade practices lawsuit against the abortion giant over its claims that abortion pills safer than Tylenol.
"We survived the opponent's motion to dismiss," he said. "And if we ultimately do win, they could be liable for billions, which could bankrupt that company. So, I'm excited to go fight for truth, fight for life, and take the enemy down using any tool we have above and beyond just our heartbeat bill."
Uthmeier noted steps the state is taking to restrict the flow of abortion pills into the state. Florida has sued abortion pill manufacturers, as well as the FDA, for violating the initial rulemaking approval that allowed abortion pills, calling it "inaccurate and deceptive."
He also spoke of going after abortion facilities, saying the state would "use every tool we can to go after the abortion clinics that are killing babies."
He elaborated:
"Some of that is just enforcing laws that are already on the books, sanitation issues. We shut down a clinic in the panhandle of Florida where a lot of people were coming in from out of state after finding numerous instances of normal hospital cleanliness and sanitation laws being violated.
So, I think people have to get creative here when it comes to saving lives."
The conversation also touched on efforts to stop commercial surrogacy and protect children from online predators.
Utheimer said that he is hopeful he will see the end of abortion in his lifetime. "I do believe we have the truth on our side and the truth will prevail."
