University of Michigan fellowship trains primary care doctors to kill preborn children
The University of Michigan Medical School is working with the Reproductive Health Access Project to offer a year-long abortion training fellowship to doctors.
The Reproductive Health Access Project is offering a year-long abortion training fellowship to primary care doctors in four locations.
There will be eight fellows in four states (Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, and New York) who will be trained at a 'high-volume abortion site.'
Fellows will be paid $77,049 to $105,447 and will receive a meal allowance, health insurance, and 28 vacation days.
According to Campus Reform, the fellowship exists to train family physicians to commit abortions and to teach abortion procedures to others. The Reproductive Health Care & Advocacy Fellowship "aims to develop leaders who will promote and teach full-spectrum women's reproductive health care within primary care, specifically to underserved populations."
In other words, the fellowship intends to train primary care doctors — not OB/Gyns — to commit abortions on groups of people that abortion advocates believe should and need to be having more abortions.
There will be eight fellows per state in four states: Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, and New York. Those approved for the fellowship can expect to receive $77,049 to $105,447 in fiscal year 2027, along with health insurance, a meal allowance, and 28 vacation days. According to the website, fellows spend the year learning to commit abortion procedures and train others to do the same at a "high-volume abortion site."
Campus Reform reviewed federal tax filings and found that from 2020 to 2023, the University of Michigan received $69,652 from the Reproductive Health Access Project. The project also gave tens of thousands of dollars to Rutgers University and the University of Washington for similar abortion training projects.
Dr. Christina Francis, an obstetrician-gynecologist and chief executive officer of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists, told Campus Reform:
"The euphemistically named ‘Reproductive Health Care’ fellowship at the University of Michigan only provides training in one thing a normal family medicine residency wouldn’t: performing induced abortions which intentionally end the lives of our fetal patients.
It is deeply concerning that a public university such as The U of M has chosen to blur the lines between abortion and actual care for pregnant women.”
She noted that the Hippocratic Oath "forbids intentionally ending the lives of our patients, including by induced abortion."
Induced abortion is not health care. It is the direct and intentional killing of a preborn human being, an act that is never necessary. Fellowships like this train doctors to be merchants of death under the guise of health care and with the promise of making money off of vulnerable women.
