CHICAGO, IL - MAY 18: A sign hangs above a Planned Parenthood clinic on May 18, 2018 in Chicago, Illinois. The Trump administration is expected to announce a plan for massive funding cuts to Planned Parenthood and other taxpayer-backed abortion providers by reinstating a Reagan-era rule that prohibits federal funding from going to clinics that discuss abortion with women or that share space with abortion providers.

REPORT: 8 Illinois abortion businesses have injured 19 women so far this year

Nineteen women have been injured across eight abortion facilities in Illinois in 2025, according to one pro-life organization's report — including two taking place within just one week at Planned Parenthood Aurora.

Key Takeaways:

  • Nineteen (19) women have been injured at Illinois abortion facilities so far this year.

  • Two of these injuries occurred within one week of each other.

  • Abortion facilities in Illinois are under-regulated, creating a dangerous environment for women.

The Details:

Operation Rescue reported that two recent injuries at Planned Parenthood Aurora have brought the total number of known abortion-related injuries to 19 so far this year.

Operation Rescue president Troy Newman said:

“And these are just the injuries we know about. Abortion clinics do all they can to hide the injuries they inflict on women. It is only thanks to dedicated pro-lifers keeping prayerful vigil on these sidewalks that this carnage has even been documented. How many more women carried away on a stretcher go unseen?”

On August 26, a Planned Parenthood staffer called 911 after a 40-year-old patient was experiencing severe bleeding. The staffer was seemingly unprepared to give details on the injury, having to check with someone else to see if the woman was still conscious and breathing. As is typical, the staffer requested the ambulance come with no lights or sirens.

Seven days later, on September 6, the same facility had another injury, this time calling 911 for a woman with a uterine perforation. The staffer couldn't even pronounce the word, and could be heard receiving coaching from someone in the background on what to say, including — once again — requesting no lights and sirens.

Newman said:

“Clearly the first caller in this life-threatening situation was untrained and unprepared to answer basic questions from dispatch. Imagine lying on an operating table, a hole torn through your uterus, and then hearing untrained staff stumbling through crucial questions from 911 – the only source who now has the ability to help you.

This is not healthcare. This is slapdash butchery with no accountability from the state, and no consequences when women are maimed. It’s only a matter of time before these frequent abortion injuries in Illinois start resulting in abortion deaths.”

Why It Matters:

Planned Parenthood Aurora, like many other abortion facilities, regularly asks for ambulances to be sent without lights and sirens, regardless of the severity of the emergency. This specific facility has a long history of injuring women, and in the pro-abortion state of Illinois, that disturbing reality goes ignored.

Illinois does not require abortion facilities to be licensed, and also protects abortionists at all costs, even if they injure and maim women. Keith Reisinger-Kindle is a recent example, having perforated a woman's uterus at an abortion business in Champaign-Urbana, leaving half the baby's body inside of her. Yet despite the severity of the injury, he continues to commit abortions without the state stepping in to protect women.

The Bottom Line:

In a state like Illinois, which prioritizes abortion over women's well-being, women need to know what is at risk.
