New report says 114 Christian colleges still have ties to Big Abortion
One hundred and fourteen Christian colleges and universities across the United States have ties to the abortion industry, according to a recent report by The Pro-Life Generation’s (Students for Life of America) Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement (IPA).
The stated goal of the report is to "raise public awareness of these relationships so that Christian families, donors, pastors and alumni can call schools back to their biblical mission and encourage institutional reform."
The report found 114 Christian colleges and universities with ties to the abortion industry, referring students to abortion organizations (including Planned Parenthood) for "resources," internships, volunteer opportunities, and employment.
This number is a nearly 39% increase since 2024.
Catholic colleges had nearly 25% of all pro-abortion infractions among the schools; however, they also held six positions among the top 10 most pro-life colleges.
The IPA found that a significant number of colleges and universities identifying as Christian, traditional, and affiliated with denominations opposed to abortion do not uphold these values in practice. They refer students to abortion organizations, including Planned Parenthood, for “resources,” internships, and volunteer or employment opportunities.
Compared to similar reports over the last few years, "Christian schools' support for the abortion industry increased by 19.82% since 2022 in the wake of Roe's reversal, with a 38.63% increase since 2024.”
During the academic year 2024-25, IPA analyzed 725 colleges and universities, each identified by IPA as "an institution of higher education affiliated with a Christ-centered denomination and publicly claiming historical Christian faith in its founding.”
After reviewing the schools’ references to abortion on their websites, IPA tallied “infractions,” defined as "a relationship with Planned Parenthood or another abortion industry entity." Researchers then graded and ranked the schools based on the number and type of infractions and the availability of life-affirming alternatives to abortion on campus.

Out of this number, "118 schools were initially found to have ties with Planned Parenthood or support abortion" with a "combined total of 533 infractions, up 115.79% from last year." The reported noted that four schools "removed some connections" after researchers investigated in July 2025, "resulting in 114 remaining schools with connections,” IPA reported.
After accounting for these four schools, more than one in seven of the schools "maintained some kind of relationship with Planned Parenthood or the abortion industry" and 47 received an “F” grade for four or more infractions.
California and Illinois had the most schools with infractions, at 10 schools each.
The types of infractions included:
Posting internship opportunities on school websites that recommend or credit work at Planned Parenthood or another abortion vendor.
“Health resource” listings on school websites for Planned Parenthood or another local abortion vendor.
The identification of Planned Parenthood as a “class resource.”
Posted events featuring Planned Parenthood or another abortion industry entity.
Promotions of volunteer opportunities with Planned Parenthood or other local abortion vendors.
Publish direct support of Planned Parenthood or abortion in general by school administration or an academic department (such as “Women and Gender Studies”).
The schools with the most infractions were affiliated with the Methodist denomination: American University (Washington, D.C.) - 34 infractions, Duke University (NC) - 27 infractions, and Dickinson College (PA) - 23 infractions.
Colleges of other denominations also had infractions: African Methodist Episcopal, Baptist, Catholic, Church of the Brethren, Episcopal, Interdenominational, Lutheran, Methodist, Nondenominational/Evangelical, Presbyterian, and Seventh Day Adventist.
Though the Catholic Church clearly teaches that abortion is a grave moral evil, IPA found:
Catholic schools had nearly a quarter (24.56%) of the total infractions across all denominations.
Since 2024, Catholic colleges/universities had a 19.92% increase in pro-abortion infractions.
"... Donors, alumni, and potential students deserve to know what schools are doing in support of abortion and abortion vendors," said Kristi Hamrick, Students for Life of America's vice president of media and policy. "Every year, there’s always a few schools who try to distance themselves from their faith affiliation, when we point it out. But we’ve been more than fair in documenting who they claim to be and what they are doing on the human rights issue of our day — abortion."
Students for Life Action president Kristan Hawkins told Fox News Digital:
“You can't be Christian and be pro-abortion. It's not something you can ... be flexible on. If you are a Christian, you profess to serve a God who spoke the universe into existence. He sent his only son to die a painful, excruciating death, to rise again in three days so we can live in heaven for all eternity. He did that because we, as His creation, are infinitely invaluable."
IPA also identified the Christian colleges and universities that showed the most support for pro-life values, graded “A+” with zero pro-abortion infractions and definitive pro-life connections. Catholic schools also held six of the top 10 pro-life spots (see pp. 7-8), despite the numerous Catholic colleges with ties to abortion.
Just because certain colleges and universities claim Christian affiliations does not mean they promote pro-life values. It's always important to thoroughly research higher education schools to ensure they do not actively partner with abortion businesses.
