Mainstream media coverage miscategorizes March for Life, just as you’d expect

When it comes to coverage of the March for Life, many of us know that it’s hardly existent, if it is at all. It’s certainly not why we march, but it would still be nice for the mainstream media to be held to high enough standards to provide fair coverage on pro-life events.

While there was some coverage this year, most of it focused on the snow, whether it was good or bad press. Certainly representing the latter, a pro-abortion feminist site, Jezebel, blithely likened “anti-abortion protesters” to the snow DC residents apparently likewise had to be protected from.

The New York Times wrote that “hundreds” attended the March for Life in Washington D.C. The Washington Post called it a “small” turnout.Watch the TRUTH below. Pass it on since the media won’t do their job.

Perhaps the ones receiving the most focus though are pieces from the widely read, but nevertheless normally pro-abortion media outlets, the New York Times and the Washington Post.

LifeSiteNews.com on Saturday evening highlighted the laughable titles from the media outlets. NYT’s piece claimed that “Hundreds Brave Snow at March for Life in Washington.” It’s nice to use such a word as “brave,” but it provides little consolation. WaPo’s headline read that “As DC shuts down for a blizzard, a small, faithful crowd still joins the March for Life.” Again, thanks to WaPo for calling us a “a… faithful crowd,” but being called “small” does not go over well.

LifeSiteNews noted that at least 40 thousand people joined the March for Life this year.

Dear Reader,

Every day in America, more than 2,800 preborn babies lose their lives to abortion.

That number should break our hearts and move us to action.

Ending this tragedy requires daily commitment from people like you who refuse to stay silent.

Millions read Live Action News each month — imagine the impact if each of us took a stand for life 365 days a year.

Right now, we’re urgently seeking 500 new Life Defenders (monthly donors) to join us before the end of October. And thanks to a generous $250,000 matching grant, your first monthly gift will be DOUBLED to help save lives and build a culture that protects the preborn.

Together, we can end abortion and create a future where every child is cherished and every mother is supported.

Those two weren’t the only media outlets to provide such coverage, though.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette was more involving in their reporting, but their headline also focused on the smaller numbers, with “Washington blizzard limits turnout for March for Life.” The piece also refers to the Washington Post.

On the day of the March, BuzzFeed instead chose to highlight “Anti-Abortion Group Wants to Send Undercover Tapes to Supreme Court.” Their last paragraph mentioned the March for Life, which also gave equal reporting to the angry and foul pro-abortion protesters who were there to block pro-lifers as they ended their march at the Supreme Court:

The petition comes on the same day of the 2016 March For Life in Washington, D.C., which featured antiabortion protestors facing off with abortion supporters in front of the Supreme Court.

Sadly, such coverage, or lacketherof, is no shock. It’s a good thing we don’t do it for the good press then!
