Life awardee Catherine Herring describes the irony behind her fight for babies
At Live Action's Life Awards gala on October 24, one the evening's awardees was Catherine Pressly Herring, who valiantly defended the life of her preborn child after her ex-husband tried to poison her and their daughter with abortion drugs seven times.
Herring spoke of her experience, pointing out how God had used a very unlikely source to prepare her to speak in defense of preborn babies, as she is now doing.
Catherine Herring received a life award at Live Action's annual gala on October 24.
Herring and her preborn daughter, Josephine, were poisoned by Herring's former husband seven times in an attempt to end Josephine's life.
Josephine survived, and Herring calls her "the one known survivor of an abortion pill poisoning reversal in the entire world."
Herring said that years ago, she was singled out and publicly demeaned by a professor after she gave a speech on religious symbolism for her college class. That professor, interestingly enough, was Sarah Weddington, the attorney who argued in favor of abortion in Roe v. Wade.

Herring shared that her former husband of 11 years knowingly and intentionally poisoned her with abortion pills, with six additional attempts to end their preborn child's life. Herring's daughter, Josephine, survived.
"Not only did I survive a demonic poisoning, my child is the one known survivor of an abortion pill poisoning reversal in the entire world," she said, pointing out how her daughter is the only known child to successfully survive (thanks to abortion pill reversal) following a forced abortion pill poisoning upon her mother.
Herring's full story, including her experience with abortion pill reversal to save Josephine, can be found here.

Herring said after that experience, she felt she had only two choices: "A, hide under the covers and never come back out, or B, make sure this atrocity never happens to anyone else again."
Though she initially wanted to choose option A, her two older children, John and Heidi, didn't make that an option.
"John and Heidi are the real heroes today and I accept this award on their behalf, along with their sister Josephine, the survivor of her father's seven attempts of murder," Herring said.
Herring also shared an anecdote of taking a senior level leadership course at the University of Texas, where she was humiliated by the professor after a public speaking exercise.
As it turns out, that professor was Sarah Weddington, the same attorney who represented "Jane Roe" (Norma McCorvey), in the landmark Roe v. Wade case.
Herring pointed out that, ironically, Weddington was "the professor who best prepared me to advocate against the killing of innocent babies."
Herring thanked the crowd, saying, "When you live through something so egregious and horrible, it's hard to imagine a bright spot down the road. But this truly is one, and your encouragement means the world."
