Lost and adopted as a young boy, filmmaker shares the story of his search for his mother

When filmmaker Jojo de Carteret was four years old, he woke up and found himself alone in his parents’ home in the Philippines; he did not know where his family had gone. He wandered the streets, crying and looking for them. Eventually, someone found him and took him to an orphanage, where he remained for two years before he was adopted by an Australian family.

In a Facebook video that has been viewed 20 million times, Jojo tells the incredible story of his search for his biological mother — a story that shows both the powerful bond between a mother and child, as well as the hope that adoption brings:
