Under Indian law, tests to find out the gender of an unborn baby are illegal if not done for medical reasons, but the practice continues in what activists say is a flourishing multi-million-dollar business. Girls in India are often considered a liability, as parents have to put away large sums of money for dowries at the time of their marriage.

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO - 2021/10/03: A demonstrator holds a placard reading "You cannot force a doctor to abort" during the pro-life demonstration march. Thousands march in Mexico City at a pro-life and pro-women demonstration march. Demonstrators came in from all over the country, with different states or organizations written on their t-shirts. The march comes after the Mexican Supreme Court ruled that abortion is no longer a crime since September 2021.
