GOP presidential candidates react to video of Planned Parenthood selling baby parts

The nation has been rocked by the new undercover video released by the Center for Medical Progress, which showed a Planned Parenthood director discussing selling the body parts of preborn babies killed at their clinics.

The backlash was immediate. Texas Governor Greg Abbott has launched an investigation, and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has sworn to investigate, as well. Live Action President Lila Rose has spoken out, slamming Planned Parenthood for its consistently lawless behavior.

This investigation by the Center for Medical Progress reveals the unimaginable horror that is Planned Parenthood. The exploitation of human life, the cover-up, and the black market profiteering by America’s largest abortion chain is not only egregious and heartbreaking, but exposes how the abortion giant is corrupt to the core — from the CEO, Cecile Richards, down to the local clinic. As Live Action has investigated through the years, Planned Parenthood’s barbaric practices reveal their contempt for rule of law and human life. This latest expose of Planned Parenthood’s trafficking of baby parts for profit should be the final nail in the coffin for the abortion giant. Congress must take immediate action to stop all taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood and end the bankrolling of this horrific human rights abuser.

Now, Republican presidential candidates are speaking up, too.

Mike Huckabee not only denounced Planned Parenthood for this grotesque act, but is calling for and end to the abortion giant’s taxpayer funding.

Former Texas Governor Rick Perry also released a statement, saying that this is a reminder why he signed legislation to defund Planned Parenthood:

“The video showing a Planned Parenthood employee selling the body parts of aborted children is a disturbing reminder of the organization’s penchant for profiting off the tragedy of a destroyed human life. It is because of stories like this that I signed legislation defunding Planned Parenthood in the state of Texas – to protect human life and the health and safety of Texans.”

Rand Paul also spoke up for life, calling for the defunding of Planned Parenthood.

Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum also affirmed that he is in favor of stripping taxpayer funding from the abortion corporation.

Federal law prohibits the sale of fetal body parts for profit, and Planned Parenthood’s willingness to violate the law and exploit the lives of preborn children purely to make a profit is telling. If there was any doubt about the intrinsic evil of America’s biggest abortion chain, this investigation makes it crystal clear. If these investigations show that Planned Parenthood is, once again, breaking the law, then will it be enough to finally shut this evil organization down?
