‘Your god is way too small’ if you don’t support killing preborn humans, says Minnesota pastor

A pastor in Minnesota recently triggered an uproar in the Christian community and beyond after expressing his support for expansive abortion access, claiming that Christians who oppose abortion have faith that’s “way too small.”

T. Michael Rock, co-pastor of Robbinsdale Parkway United Church of Christ (a denomination known for its support of abortion), made the comments while attending a pro-abortion rally in Minnesota. He falsely claimed that abortion is in line with the Bible’s teachings.

“If you don’t have faith for a person who’s pregnant to make their own choices, then your faith is way too small,” Rock stated.

He continued, “If you’re going to think that religion somehow says we need to restrict access because of God, then your god is way too small.” He also said, “I’m tired. I’m sick and tired of our Christian colleagues demanding that there be restrictions to this access.”

Euphemisms like “access” aside, abortion is done via powerful suction, dismemberment, and even lethal injection at later gestational ages — all of which Rock seems to support:

Minnesota has some of the most extreme abortion laws in the country. As of early February, abortion is now legal up until birth, despite the fact most Minnesotans — and most Americans — do not support abortion with no restrictions.

Rock is not the only Christian minister who has publicly expressed support for abortion. Reverend Katherine Ragsdale, for example, the president of the National Abortion Federation, has argued that the killing of preborn humans via abortion is a “blessing” and a moral good.

Dear Reader,

Every day in America, more than 2,800 preborn babies lose their lives to abortion.

That number should break our hearts and move us to action.

Ending this tragedy requires daily commitment from people like you who refuse to stay silent.

Millions read Live Action News each month — imagine the impact if each of us took a stand for life 365 days a year.

Right now, we’re urgently seeking 500 new Life Defenders (monthly donors) to join us before the end of October. And thanks to a generous $250,000 matching grant, your first monthly gift will be DOUBLED to help save lives and build a culture that protects the preborn.

Together, we can end abortion and create a future where every child is cherished and every mother is supported.

Similarly, before Roe v. Wade was overturned, Reverend Carlton Veazey, the former president of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (RCRC), said, “The Supreme Court affirmed a woman’s right to choose an abortion. But before the Supreme Court did it, God had already done it, because it affirms a woman’s moral agency.”

It appears that Pastor Rock once had an affiliation with the RCRC “for many years,” according to his Instagram page:

In advocating for the unrestricted ability to slaughter preborn children, these pastors seem to have forgotten one of the most well-known of the 10 commandments: You shall not murder. As Live Action News previously reported, Christianity is deeply rooted in a respect for the sanctity of life from the moment of fertilization. While the Bible speaks clearly on the sanctity of human life, so does the 1st century Didache in condemning abortion, Tertullian in the 2nd century in forbidding the destruction of the child in the womb, St. John Chrysostom in the 4th century, and so on.

Abortion is, and has always been, fundamentally at odds with the Bible and Christian teaching. When pastors twist Christian beliefs to support the pro-abortion narrative, they fail to protect the most vulnerable members of society — preborn children. It is estimated that millions of preborn children are killed each year worldwide, and it is the duty of religious leaders to defend them and speak out against abortion.

Did you know that as little as $10 a month is enough to reach more than 3,000 people with the truth about abortion that no one else is telling them? Click here to start saving lives 365 days a year.
