How this entrepreneur began to fund the pro-life cause 'one cup at a time'
Anton Krecic was in his early twenties when he became passionate about the pro-life movement because an internship through his church provided him a firsthand opportunity to see how instrumental pregnancy resource centers were in helping women with unplanned pregnancies.
But he also noticed how understaffed and underfunded these critical institutions were.
Krecic told Live Action News, “These centers were barely making ends meet, which was deeply concerning to me.”
Though Krecic didn't know it at the time, his passion would ignite the desire to form a company that would help to fund pregnancy help centers nationwide.
Anton Krecic started Seven Weeks Coffee after he realized that private enterprise could play a significant role in supporting the pro-life work of pregnancy centers.
Seven weeks is when the preborn baby is the size of a coffee bean.
To date, Seven Weeks Coffee has donated more than $1.6M dollars to pregnancy centers.
Pregnancy centers can partner with Seven Weeks by signing up on the business's website.
Krecic relocated to Washington, D.C., to work in fundraising for conservative political causes. It was there that he witnessed the slowness of government bureaucracy.
“You can’t just depend on legislative efforts to advocate for pro-life issues,” Krecic said. “There were other ways to defend the unborn, like through private enterprise. That’s when I first got the idea that I needed to create a company that would help pregnancy care centers.”
Krecic said:
“I thought immediately back to the pregnancy care center I visited years ago and how I could support them. I wanted to establish a transparent model of donating our profits – so consumers would know how they were making an impact protecting the unborn.”
He realized that almost everyone enjoys a cup of coffee, and searched online with no success for a “pro-life” coffee company. That spurred his idea to launch a coffee company that would champion pro-life principles.
At the time, Krecic was newly married and nervous about how his wife would receive the news of the venture he was proposing; it was a risk he wasn’t sure she’d embrace.
Krecic said, “I called her in a panic and caught her off guard. She asked me when the baby in the womb is the size of a coffee bean. That prompted me to name the company 'Seven Weeks Coffee.'"
Krecic founded his new enterprise, which was launched in 2021, with just $3,500 in a business account. He located a coffee roaster that could provide the coffee that was sourced from farmers.
“I wanted the best specialty coffee the best way possible,” Krecic said. “I determined that we could support farmers by paying them three times what fair trade requires while providing to our customers the top 3% of specialty coffee on the market.”
Seven Weeks Coffee ships nationwide from its Virginia headquarters primarily to individuals and families, in addition to some churches.
“I wasn’t worried that I would alienate some customers because of my pro-life mission," Krecic said. "We need more companies to be bold on what they believe and to take a stand. Other companies that have alternative views do that. They openly express their positions on political and social issues.”
Krecic admits he was nervous initially but has received “amazing support” that has been key in positioning his company to be profitable and fulfill its purpose.

“We’re seeing a need where people want to patronize a company that takes a stand,” Krecic said. “We’ve been successful without taking a dime from investors. We donate 10% of every sale, which amounts to 50% of our profit, to our pregnancy care center partners across the country. To date, we have donated more than $1.6 million dollars and we’re just getting started.”
Any pregnancy care center that has a Biblical worldview can apply for funding by completing an application on the company’s website (www.sevenweekscoffee.com). Currently more than 1,000 pregnancy care centers are affiliated with the Seven Weeks Coffee partnership program.
“I like to say we fund the pro-life movement one cup at a time,” Krecic said.
Krecic said, “We need more Christians to tap into their entrepreneurial spirit and form companies as ministries. It’s not just about profit, I didn’t start Seven Weeks Coffee to become wealthy – it is a ministry, a tool to make a difference for the Kingdom.”
He notes that well-known philanthropists like MacKenzie Scott, Jeff Bezos' former wife, uses her wealth to fund abortions by supporting organizations like Planned Parenthood.
“This is why we, as Christians, need to fight back,” Krecic said. “The unborn have the same rights as any human being. It’s offensive to me that anyone would deny that or want to take those basic human rights away from babies in the womb.”
Krecic believes Christians must be responsible stewards of both time and talent to maximize their impact in the community.
“It is my hope that more believers will enter the marketplace, leveraging their unique passions and abilities to make a meaningful difference in the world,” Krecic said. “Embracing this calling allows Christians to influence society positively and contribute to causes that further their faith and values.”
