Groups claims abortion is 'the ultimate form of love' on Valentine's Day

The abortion industry celebrated Valentine's Day by sharing its deep love and devotion to killing preborn children, calling induced abortion the "ultimate form of love."

Key Takeaways:

  • Abortion groups took to social media on Saturday to celebrate Valentine's Day with their love for abortion.

  • The Lilith Fund for Reproductive Equity, Jane's Due Process, and Medical Students for Choice all shared posts celebrating abortion as "self-love" and "freedom."

  • Such posts prove that these organizations love abortion and turn to social media as a powerful form of marketing.

The Details:

Pro-life activist and founder of the Sanctuary Cities for the Unborn Initiative, Mark Lee Dickson, shared some examples of Valentine's Day posts from popular pro-abortion groups on Facebook. The Lilith Fund for Reproductive Equity, Jane's Due Process, and Medical Students for Choice all spoke of their devotion to abortion.

The Lilith Fund

"Happy Valentine's Day," wrote The Lilith Fund, a Texas-based organization that pays for women's abortions and abortion travel costs. "... Every year our social worker asks our community a question. This year, we asked 'What does abortion mean to you?' and/or 'What do you love about abortions?'"

Photo from The Lilith Fund states: Abortion is a human right, the ultimate form of love.

Answers included the following (emphasis added):

  • "Abortion is... a human right!"

  • "Abortion is... the ultimate form of love."

  • "Abortion is... safe and essential healthcare!!"

Portraying the intentional and deliberate homicide of an innocent human being as the "ultimate form of love" is beyond warped, and, interestingly enough, flies directly in the face of what Jesus Christ told His disciples, as quoted in John 15:13: "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends."

Preborn children who are aborted had their lives stolen from them. They did not lay them down of their own accord. Christ set the example of the ultimate form of love: self-sacrifice.

But abortion sends the opposite message, as some displayed when they wrote that abortion is "an act of self-love" (emphasis added) and "community-care." Another woman wrote (emphasis added):

[Abortion] gives vulnerable pregnant people the means to maintain dignity and preserve and enhance their quality of life. it is a radical expression of self-love.

Self-love has been promoted by the current culture as the ultimate and most important love in a person's life. And those who portray abortion as "self-love" are correct; they're just very much mistaken in claiming that it is the "ultimate form of love."

"You do you," "self care," and "Do what's best for you" are some of today's most common phrases, and when it comes to abortion, they are being used as justification to kill innocent human beings.

Abortion is the opposite of the Gospel message, in which Christ willingly sacrificed His own body and blood for others; choosing abortion forcibly sacrifices someone else's life.

Induced abortion is the intentional and direct act of killing a vulnerable preborn human being. To devalue and end someone else's life for the sake of one's comfort is not loving. Here is what abortion does:

Jane's Due Process

Jane's Due Process, a Texas-based organization that gives free legal representation and financial support to minors to get them across state lines for an abortion, wrote, "It's Valentine's Day, and Reproductive Justice is our love language. Because love isn't cards and candy — it's action, care, and showing up for each other when the system won't....

"This Valentine's Day, we're holding deep gratitude for our volunteers, donors, partners, and supporters who make abortion access possible every single day. Your love is real. Your love is radical. And your love changes lives."

They are right — love isn't cards or candy. It is care and action and showing up for other people. But that's not what abortion is.

When a scared girl is facing an unplanned pregnancy, paying for her abortion instead of financially supporting her and her child is not an act of love. Jane's Due Process sends the message that teenage girls are incapable of being good mothers and that abortion is their only option. It also works to remove parents from bringing real assistance and support to girls by helping girls skirt parental notification laws. Pro-abortion groups nearly always seek to separate a child from the protection of her parents by portraying her parents as the enemy.

Research has shown that 64-70% of women who have had abortions reported feeling pressured to do so. Groups like Jane's Due Process exert pressure on vulnerable girls by convincing them that they have to abort their babies or their lives will be ruined. Offering to pay for the abortions (but not to help with the expenses of parenting) is an added layer of coercion.

On the other hand, pregnancy resource centers support girls and women in their quest to be good mothers and to succeed in other areas of their lives as well. They offer emotional, material, educational, and financial support without pressure. These are the volunteers who offer real love to young, vulnerable, and scared girls facing unplanned pregnancies.

Medical Students for Choice

In its social media post, Medical Students for Choice asked for donations to help educate future abortionists. It also said, "Spread the love and support for abortion education and reproductive healthcare this Valentine's Day."

This disproves the common and incorrect belief that 'no one loves abortion.' It also points to the fact that since 1973, when Roe v. Wade forced legalized abortion on every state, doctors have been trained to commit abortions as though abortion is health care. It's not, which is why the majority of doctors don't participate in abortion. Telling doctors they need to learn how to intentionally kill preborn babies in order to be good doctors is a manipulation tactic to increase the number of abortions committed and, therefore, increase abortion profits.

Additional pro-abortion posts:

Other pro-abortion posts further proved that abortion is about self-love and goes against what love actually is. We Testify, a group that shares abortion stories as a form of "self-love" wrote:

Abortion is Love🌹 Abortion is Freedom🖤

This Valentine’s Day, we aren’t just talking about romance; we’re talking about the deep intimacy of knowing and trusting yourself. To every Black person who prioritized their peace and their purpose: we see you, we love you, and we stand with you.

This radical self-love checklist is a reminder for when the stigma has you messed up.

It tries to convince women that any shame or regret they feel after an abortion isn't coming from within themselves, but from a judgmental world. But abortion trauma and regret are very real.

Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio also got on the "abortion is love" bandwagon, saying, "Abortion care is an act of love. Happy Galentine’s, Palentine’s, & Valentine’s Day from PPGOH!"

The Bottom Line:

The abortion industry loves abortion, and it needs to market its "services," which it does by harnessing the power of social media to convince women that they aren't free or able to love themselves if they can't kill their own preborn children.
