‘Manhattan DA’s Decision Unacceptable; Pro-life Voices Not Given Equal Protection’
Live Action founder reacts to pro-life journalist’s attack being dismissed.
Washington, D.C. – Today, Live Action, one of the nation’s leading human rights organizations, reacts to the recent Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's decision to decline to file charges against Savannah Craven. Craven was brutally attacked earlier this year during a man-on-the-street interview regarding Planned Parenthood.
Lila Rose, Founder and President of Live Action, issued the following statement:
“The Manhattan DA’s decision not to prosecute the woman who assaulted pro-life journalist Savannah Craven is unacceptable. Savannah was attacked while peacefully asking questions about Planned Parenthood and speaking up for children in foster care.
The assault was severe enough to require stitches, and no American should face that kind of violence simply for expressing their views in public. Our activists are courageous and remain committed to their work, but this outcome shows that too often, pro-life voices are not given equal protection under the law.
Live Action will continue to stand with our activists, to share the truth about abortion in public spaces, and to call on authorities to ensure that all Americans, regardless of viewpoint, are protected from harassment and violence.”
