Nationwide Demonstrations Call on Congress to End Taxpayer Funding for Planned Parenthood
Washington, D.C. – Live Action, one of the nation’s leading human rights organizations, hosts its second "Defund Day," a nationwide day of peaceful demonstrations urging Congress to permanently end taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood ahead of a critical congressional funding deadline.
Grassroots activists across the United States will gather on Saturday, June 27. This year's campaign includes events in communities across the country, with demonstrations taking place in Washington, D.C., Texas, Florida, California, and numerous other states.
Events will feature peaceful prayer, music, and remarks from local speakers and advocates. At the Orange, California, demonstration, detransitioner Chloe Cole will address attendees and share her perspective as an advocate against taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood due to their more recent focus on providing cross-sex hormones to minors. Read the recent Live Action report titled Planned Parenthood's Path to Destruction: From Abortion to Transgender.
Media interviews with organizers and event speakers are available before and during local events.
