A 28-year-old woman has filed a police complaint accusing her 29-year-old colleague of sexually exploiting her, physically assaulting her, and forcing her to take abortion drugs against her will.

An employee at an IT firm in India alleges that her coworker, who held a position as trainer, initiated a relationship with her in 2025, "persistently" pursuing a relationship and even proposing marriage.

She accepted his proposal and moved in with him in February 2026, however, she claims he was physically abusive while she was living with him and that he extorted her for IN 78,000.

She discovered she was pregnant in July 2026 and said that he then forcibly gave her abortion drugs to kill the baby against her will. She reported him for harassment to the firm's internal complaints committee but the alleged harassment continued.

The Technocity Police Station has registered the case and an investigation is underway.

Darren Burke — sentenced to 45 months in prison after putting crushed up pills into his mistress's orange juice after she refused abortion.
