Vice President JD Vance to speak at 2026 March for Life
Organizers for the March for Life have announced that Vice President JD Vance will be addressing the crowd at the 53rd March for Life, taking place on Friday, January 23, in Washington, D.C.
Vice President JD Vance has been announced as a speaker at the 2026 March for Life — the second time he will address the crowd.
President Trump has also indicated that he will send a video message to the pro-life crowd.
VP Vance's appearance at this year's March will be his second time addressing pro-lifers at the event; he also gave remarks at last year's March in what was his first official public appearance as vice president. He is the first sitting vice president to speak at the March for Life.
"We march to protect the unborn. We march to proclaim and live out the sacred truth that every single child is a miracle and a gift from God," he told the crowd in 2025.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Vice President Vance back to the March for Life this year,” said March for Life President Jennie Bradley Lichter. “His presence at this year’s March underscores the importance of this iconic event and the centrality of the pro-life movement to a healthy conservative coalition. We are honored that he will join us in standing up for the unborn alongside our marchers from all over the country.”

“Vice President Vance is grateful to the tens of thousands of Americans who travel to the National Mall each year to speak out in support of life and looks forward to joining them for the second consecutive year,” a spokesperson for Vance told EWTN News.
On Friday, President Donald Trump told reporters that he would also address the crowd via video message.
“I just taped a beautiful piece for them, and they’re going to play it,” Trump said.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) are also scheduled to speak at the rally.
The theme of this year's March, "Life is a Gift," focuses on a "key message or a timely element of the pro-life mission.” The March, which takes place every January, is expected to draw tens of thousands of people from across the nation.
A pre-March concert is expected to begin at 11 a.m. on Friday at the National Mall, followed by the rally at 12 p.m. The March commences immediately after.
