A new report revealed that Planned Parenthood is selling hormonal birth control as “gender-affirming care” to minor girls who wish to suppress their menstrual cycles without parental permission.
KEY TAKEAWAYS:
- A new report from the American Principles Project revealed evidence that Planned Parenthood is targeting gender-confused minors.
- At least two Planned Parenthood affiliates offer hormonal birth control as “gender affirming care” to underage girls to “stop periods” without parental knowledge.
- Hormonal birth control is widely available to minors in the United States, and is readily available to minors without parental consent in half of US states, plus Washington D.C.
- One OB/GYN explained that in offering hormonal birth control as “gender affirming care,” Planned Parnethood is “pushing boundaries.”
THE DETAILS:
The report, from the conservative watchdog group American Principles Project (APP), follows the release of Live Action’s “The Case For Defunding Planned Parenthood” report and Live Action’s bombshell undercover investigation into Planned Parenthood’s distribution of cross-sex hormones to minors. The APP report offers further evidence that Planned Parenthood is targeting gender-confused and vulnerable minors, not only with cross-sex hormones and gender ideology, but also with birth control.

As Fox News reported, the APP report referenced a revealing Gender Affirming Patient Care Reference Guide from Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, which appears to show the affiliate working around parental consent laws. It states:
People 15 and younger who have periods can come to us for birth control options to stop periods. Parent/guardian consent is not required to get birth control.
As noted by Fox News, the APP report also referenced the website for the affiliate, Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest, Inc., which states on its “Gender-Affirming Care” page, “While patients under 18 cannot receive hormone therapy, they may have a consultation with a provider to understand treatment options and to receive medications to stop their periods (if desired).”
In addition, Fox News pointed out that the affiliate offers menstrual suppression to minors on its FAQ page. It is on that same page that Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest also acknowledges that its targeted customers are youth.

Planned Parenthood is pushing boundaries by advertising contraceptives, as well as cross-sex hormones, to young girls who are confused about their gender. Dr. Ingrid Skop, OBGYN and Charlotte Lozier Institute vice president and director of medical affairs, told Live Action News, “Broadly, disrupting normal hormonal function so that ovulation does not occur has a contraceptive effect, but Planned Parenthood is pushing boundaries by asserting this allows them to use contraceptive methods for (unproven) therapeutic goals in treating gender dysphoria.”
Hormonal birth control is widely available to minors in the United States, and is readily available to minors without parental consent in half of US states, plus Washington D.C. According to the Guttmacher Institute, “25 states and the District of Columbia explicitly allow all minors to consent to contraceptive services” and “24 states explicitly permit minors to consent to contraceptive services in one or more circumstances.”
Live Action News previously reported that Planned Parenthood is one of the leading suppliers of cross-sex hormones to minors. The corporation has openly advertised itself as such. Live Action’s recent undercover calls to Planned Parenthood facilities across several states showed that Planned Parenthood staff were willing to provide a 16-year-old girl with testosterone the same day of a single appointment, even a virtual appointment, without referrals from mental health professionals and with little to no parent supervision.
THE BOTTOM LINE:
From the organization’s inception with Margaret Sanger’s push for eugenics, Planned Parenthood has been selling birth control on a huge scale. Planned Parenthood Mar Monte’s flyer and Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest’s website suggest that the organization is looking to increase its revenue by selling contraceptives to gender-confused young girls, who may feel desperate to stop their menstrual cycles without their parents knowing about it.
As APP President Terry Schilling said in a statement accompanying the release of his organization’s report:
Planned Parenthood is no longer merely an abortion giant. They have lately also transformed into a dangerous purveyor of irreversible gender transition procedures, targeting vulnerable young people with minimal safeguards. They are not a healthcare provider; they are a political machine using taxpayer funds to advance a radical agenda that endangers our families.
We are proud of President Trump and Speaker Johnson for ensuring that language to defund Planned Parenthood was included in the House version of the One Big, Beautiful Bill. Now it’s time for the Senate to put the nail in the coffin and end taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood once and for all.
Backed by nearly $800M in taxpayer funding yearly, Planned Parenthood targets the most vulnerable: helpless preborn babies and confused young people. With its warped brand of sex education, 400,000 abortions annually, and so-called “gender-affirming care,” Planned Parenthood harms the most vulnerable and wreaks havoc on American society as a whole. It is time to defund Planned Parenthood.
