A Planned Parenthood facility known for withholding information from emergency dispatchers about injured patients has sent another patient to the emergency room.
Operation Rescue reports that another post-abortion complication occurred on March 21, 2025, at Planned Parenthood in Orange, California. After making contact with the emergency dispatcher at the fire department, the staffer did not immediately tell the dispatcher what the complication was when she was asked what happened.
“My name is [redacted], from Planned Parenthood,” the staffer said. “We need to transfer a patient emergently to the hospital for a complication.”
On the call, the dispatcher asked if the patient was awake, but the staffer was not with the patient, so could not answer with certainty. When the dispatcher requested information on the “chief complaint” of the woman (who was reportedly 22 years old), he was told “vaginal bleeding,” and replied, clarifying, “hemorrhaging?” while reassuring the staffer that help was on the way.
This particular Planned Parenthood facility has failed to be forthcoming on other occasions with information about injured patients when calling emergency services. There have been at least three such emergencies within the last year, in which staffers failed to quickly disclose relevant information to dispatchers. Operation Rescue noted:
In 2024, Operation Rescue also obtained 911 recordings that revealed Planned Parenthood staff at the Orange location actively refused to cooperate with 911 dispatchers on two different calls, further endangering two different women already in need of emergency care.
On one occasion, the staffer told the dispatcher only that a woman needed to be “transferred emergently to the hospital for a complication,” and would only add that the woman had a “pregnancy-related complication.” In another instance, the staffer actually argued with the dispatcher; the staffer refused to give details beyond the fact that a “pregnancy-related complication” had occurred, even as the dispatcher continued to say more information was necessary so paramedics knew how to respond. As Live Action News previously reported:
“You just need to send the paramedics!” she snapped. “They’ve come here many times before. I just need the paramedics.” The manager eventually admitted it was a first trimester abortion. “This is not typical for you guys to ask so many questions. That’s why we’re kind of concerned,” the manager added. But the dispatcher refused to be dissuaded. “It is, it’s absolutely typical,” she said. The manager continued to argue, saying, “No it’s not, I’ve had – I’ve done this before.”
“Allow me to do my job, ok?” responded the dispatcher, again repeating that the paramedics were already on their way.
This facility has a history of botching abortions, and was one of numerous facilities investigated by the Department of Justice for the illegal trafficking of the body parts of aborted babies. The facility was also one of multiple Planned Parenthood affiliates which wrongly received millions of dollars in COVID-19 relief from the federal Paycheck Protection Program, despite its ineligibility.
