Abortionist who worked alongside Kermit Gosnell is back in business
Leroy Brinkley, an abortionist who once hired notorious, serial-killing abortionist Kermit Gosnell has opened a new facility in Delaware.
While Gosnell primarily committed abortions at his Philadelphia facility, he committed abortions once a week at the Delaware facility owned by Leroy Brinkley.
Brinkley owned two facilities, both operating in Delaware, which were forced to close after major health violations were found.
Though Brinkley previously said he would not reopen, he has quietly opened a new facility.
As Operation Rescue recounted, Brinkley operated two abortion facilities in Wilmington and Dover, Delaware, as part of Atlantic Women's Medical Services. Kermit Gosnell owned the facilities, but Brinkley was the managing director.
While authorities were ultimately not able to prove it, they believed that Gosnell traveled to Delaware where he began the late-term abortion process, and then sent a woman to his facility in Philadelphia, where he then finished the procedure.
It is now well known that Gosnell was a serial killer, snipping the necks of babies who were born alive during abortions. He also kept his facility in filthy condition — floors were caked with animal urine, feces, and blood; stray cats roaming the halls; and body parts of aborted babies were kept in jars like trophies. Two women died at Gosnell's hands, and countless more were seriously injured. And Gosnell was far from alone.
An investigation by the Delaware Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline found violations at the Atlantic Women's Medical Services facilities, and Brinkley opted to close the facilities rather than face charges. His attorney told the News Journal the facilities would not return to Delaware.
Brinkley also operated facilities in Louisiana, where a woman known as “Denise Doe” suffered a horrifically botched abortion. Staffers — including Eileen O'Neill, who would go on to work for Gosnell in Philadelphia — did not call an ambulance, meaning Denise had to be taken to the hospital by her mother, "Jane Doe." Denise ended up in a coma and was hospitalized for three months.
An investigation into the facility found unsanitary conditions, like unsterilized surgical instruments used on multiple patients, rusty dilators, and improperly secured drugs. Other women were found to have suffered botched abortions there as well.
Brinkley now appears as the “Registered Agent” for AllGyn Health Partners, an abortion facility in Wilmington, Delaware. The facility is a member of the National Abortion Federation (NAF), the same organization that ignored Gosnell's crimes, and which commits abortions through 24 weeks of pregnancy.
Given Brinkley's disturbing background, Jane Doe's warning for women who choose to go to his facilities is still apt.
“I tell them to kiss them and hug them and tell them that you love them because when they walk in that door, there’s a good chance they might never walk out again," she said.
“Brinkley left a miserable trail of broken women and dead babies across at least two states. He has a well-established pattern of behavior, and it is said that a leopard cannot change his spots," said Operation Rescue president Troy Newman. "We have every reason to believe that under Brinkley’s oversight, AllGyn could have all the problems his other abortion facilities had for years.
He added, “We know what kind of people Brinkley hires. I am concerned for the safety of women who go to AllGyn."
