Abortionist in India arrested for committing abortion on child rape survivor
Two people in India have been arrested in connection to the rape of a 17-year-old girl — the man who raped her and the doctor who committed an abortion to help him cover up the crime.
According to the Free Press Journal, the rapist is a married man and father who lived next door to his victim; his name is being withheld to protect the identity of the teenaged girl. She knew his family, making it easy for him to lure her to his home under the pretense of having dinner. When she arrived, his wife and children were not there, and he attacked her, according to Ulhasnagar central police station’s senior inspector Shankar Avtade. He allegedly continued to rape her on multiple occasions, and said he would kill her if she told anyone.

Eventually, the girl became pregnant, and her abuser tried to force her to take the abortion pill. That attempt failed, so the rapist’s wife and mother-in-law then took the girl, who was seven months pregnant, to an abortionist, where they lied about her age and gave false identification. The abortion procedure was committed at a civic hospital in Kalyan, and staff took the body of her baby and buried it. It is known that abusers and traffickers will use abortion as a tool to cover up their crimes, murdering the preborn baby to hide the evidence.
Police have since had the baby’s body disinterred for testing.

After the teen told her parents what had happened, they notified the police and filed a complaint at the Ulhasnagar Central Police Station. The rapist, as well as the abortionist who supplied him with abortion pill, were both arrested. Police are also investigating the four women who helped force the young girl into the abortion. To date, there have been charges filed for rape, forced abortion, concealing evidence, and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
Live Action’s Aiding Abusers series exposed that such behavior is common among sexual abusers, who often take their pregnant victims for abortions in order to cover up their crimes.
